This beer is a favorite go to, but whenever I offer it to friends that don't love hoppy beers it takes some convincing due to the name. Honestly, it doesn't taste like anything close to an IPA. More just a flavorful pale ale, which can be hard to come by. So I'd give it like a 2 on marketing, but the beer itself is lovely!

Look - poured from a 12 oz can. Clear and golden in color. Two-finger head with considerable lacing. Appears to be quite carbonated.
Smell - citrus (lemon, lime, grapefruit) and pine flavors, on the more sour end of things.
Taste - an equal balance of malty and hoppy. on the floral side for hoppiness. Very drinkable.
Feel - light bodied, medium-high carbonation, standard ABV for an APA.
Overall - an easy drinking and refreshing APA with an edge on citrus flavors. Should be a very approachable beer for most people.

Solid American Pale Ale. Starts with a citrus taste to start and malty. Good balance. Nice straw color.

Citra-Hopped Live - Southern Tier
Pale Ale - 5.5% abv

L - 3-finger dense white head atop a translucent orange body.

S - super citrus. A lot of sweetness, some alcohol, some breadiness.

T - Citrus at first, washed over immediately by bready malt. Very low bitterness. Rather sweet.

F - medium body with relatively high carb.

O - a decent summer beer. Less appealing when it’s sub-zero out.

Exceptionally clear pale straw with a finger-and-a-half of off-white head. Sloppy lacing. Sweet aroma of melon and lightly tropical fruits. These continue to the taste where they're coupled with crackery, pils-like malt and a moderately strong, grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A perfectly drinkable, middle-of-the-road APA.

Had a pint of this on tap at 716 in Buffalo. Had this as the first of 2 from Southern Tier on the evening. This one is labelled as a Cite IPA. I love me some Citra but this one just not have enough taste for what I'm looking for in an IPA these days.

It pours slightly hazy yellow with a nice frothy head that leaves nice lacing patterns behind. The aroma is not overly hoppy, with some citra notes but also some soapiness. The taste is very restrained, and very session-like. Some slight bitterness cutting through the mild malts that offer some light caramel notes. Mild carbonation and a light to medium body.

Appearance: Slightly hazy and golden colored, the beer pours capped by a three fingered head; excellent retention and clumpy lacing

Smell: Bright and fruity, with lemon/lime and papaya tones

Taste: A lot of bright fruit tones, with the papaya forward and underpinned by some crackery malt flavors; lemon/lime citrus tones, through the middle, with a nice blend of all the flavors in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Even though this was brewed in late summer, the flavors have held up nicely
