This is an extremely sessionable IPA. It is a bit creamy and thus easy drinking. I have long been a big Southern Tier fan and 2X IPA is one of my favorites, but lately I don't want to get so wasted, and this is very drinkable without being wimpy.

It is very pretty in the glass - clear and nice copper color. The aroma is a little weak but nice. It is smooth and well balanced tasting. This is an IPA to recommend to anyone and a great gateway drug for the uninitiated.

Southern Tier IPA pours a clear amber with a moderate, creamy head on top. The foam dissolves slowly leaving behind a netted pattern of lace on the glass. A flurry of bubbles rise to the surface.

The aroma is not very strong and is more malty than hoppy. Caramel and bread with a touch of citrus are most noticeable.

Each sip of this medium to full bodied beer is creamy with light carbonation. The flavor begins with sweet caramel malt and a little bready note. Some bitterness moves in towards the end and it finishes with orange citrus and pine. Once gone the piney bitterness lingers on the palate.

This is a beautiful beer with a great mouthfeel, but I'd like to see more hop aroma and flavor. It hides the 7% abv well and is quite easy to drink.

Pours to a fairly dark orange. Orange but clear decent head that's fluffy and chunky and has some lacing.

Smells of malts and roasted caramel .very sweet smell.

Taste of malts at first Carmel and roasted flavor followed by hopps slight citrus taste and finishes dry and bitter. Good balance of malt and hopps .

Overall I would drink this again it is definitely IPA with less hoppy bite and more of well blended mix of malt and hoppy. Abv is hidden nicely. I like this brew not my favorite IPA but definitely a good one I prefer a little more hopp bite I am a hoppy junky but this beer is worth trying if you like IPA which I do I'm new to craft beer and I dream of IPA they are far my favorite style just can't seem to get enough. One downfall that may seem trivial but the label is cheap I prefer a nicely painted bottle or good sticker over a paper label which makes the beer seem cheap and at 12 bucks for 6 its not cheap
