A: This Southern Tier IPA pours a deep hazy orange color with a thick soapy, bright white head that leaves some decent lacing. Lots of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass as well.

S: Aroma consists of strong pine and citrus, very characteristic of what an IPA should smell like. I also get a smell of some clove, honey and a little bit of banana.

T: Very earthy up front with the taste consisting of grapefruit at first, then blending in to that pine/citrus blend. Get some grassy notes towards the end which is complimented by honey and spice. The after taste does have a dry yeast feel, but its not as strong as one would expect.

M: Very citrus feel, basic IPA characteristics with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink and the alcohol is not noticed with all of the flavors.

O: A very nice, strong, IPA. Has the hop bite that you hope for from the style, but isnt dominate by any one ingredient. Very well blended and is a drink one, drink six type of beer.

Amber gold with a thin layer of eggshell foam that fades quick but rims and leaves webs of lace. Resiny hops, tangerine and mango on the nose with a deep underlying layer syrupy orange jam.
Sponge cake, papaya and marmalade with pine sap, orange rind and tropical flower nectar.
Orange oil finish and bittersweet honeycomb linger. Medium, chewy, clingy, oily.

April 9th born-on date, so not jumping with freshness but not past it, either. The hops make themselves known but not punishingly so (unlike, say, Flower Power from a couple of counties over) which has more to do, I think, with East Coast style than any age on it. Significant sweetness, making this quite big, which along with the strength pushes it towards a 1 1/2 IPA, killing the drinkability along the way.

Want to love this, but merely like it.

Growler fill served in a pint glass.

A - Crystal clear amber with a huge foamy white head. Retention and lacing are average.

S - Citrus, minty herbal aroma, sweet pale malt, hints of floral and light caramel. Very clean aroma.

T - Follows the nose with minty herbal hops, sharp rustic floral, some citrus laced in with pale and light caramel malts holding ground. Some dirty hop bitterness, grapefruit rind comes out on a dry and semi bitter finish.

M - Medium carbonation, wet upfront but finishes dry on the back end.

Pretty good price on a growler fill up. Dirty and clean levels of flavor and bitterness. This is their best beer in my opinion. A good choice when your in the south western NY area.
