The illegitimate love child of a Porter and an IPA finds balance between citrusy, resinous hops and rich, dark malts resulting in a smooth, black ale. Named after our beloved North Broadway location, where the brewery continues to thrive.

Pours a black color with a minimal tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is black coffee and roasted malts. Slightly bitter finish.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance - The beer pours a deep cola color with a huge head of tan foam. The head has a great level of retension slowly fading over time to leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma of the brew is strongest of a roasted malt and molasses smell mixed with a bit of toast. Along with these smells comes a little bit of herb and pine.
Taste-. The taste begins with a roasted and toasted malt flavor with a bit of herb and earthy hop. Hop flavors of some pine start joining in as the taste advances along with a bit of caramel and molasses sweetness. Toward the end the hop amps up a bit and leaves one with a sorta charred roasted and toasted, moderatly hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is a bit higher. A lower carbonation level may have been slightly better but overall the feel of the brew was decent.
Overall- An OK brew overall, but nothing too fantastic.

Poured into a tulip it is very dark with a nice lacy head. The smell is exquisite and is a perfect blend of malts and hops playing nicely in one glass. The taste is more on the malty side even for a black IPA but it is so refreshing on a cold winter day. The feel equally good with a nice open finish that leaves a citrus-like taste. Overall this is an excellent beer and there was 2 six packs left on the shelf when I bought this and am comptemplating going back for the other one. This is one of bozones best seasonals along with the buzz kill java stout, highly reccommend

Smooth rich malt and a hoppy dry finish dominate this beer. The description says citrus, I don't get much citrus but the balance between malt and hops are on point. Very happy to see seasonal can releases by Bozeman brewing. A solid hoppy black IPA. Well done and will purchase again.
