like a hoppy vienna lager, that isnt a lager at all. one of my favorite beers from these guys, and one of the better montana beers out there really. certainly as the packaged ones go. this is just real good stuff, amber in color, frothy and heady, nice and clear, and with an awesome fresh baked aroma of patient ale yeast, sweet red malt, and citrusy northwest hops. balance is a word that gets thrown around a lot, and i think it means something different to everyone, and manifests itself in different ways in different beers, but this is one of the most well balanced beers i have had. the perfect dose of hops, juicy at just the right instant to cut the malt sweetness. just enough body for the oily hops, and just perfectly unfolding from top to bottom. i get a biscuity thing from the malt, with honey and hops. orange zest for a flash, and then the yeast. its clean and dry in the finish, very uniquely flavored for what i was sure would be just another amber. its anything but, delicious ice cold from the can, memorable, refreshing and hearty at the same time. perfect fall beer.

Great Amber color, poured a good 2 inches of foam. Very subtle smell of malt. Good smooth drink, but nothing fascinating.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #84 (Jan 2014):

It’s great to see such a honed-in beer, very true to style with more than enough flavor and subtle complexities to go around. Drinkable, clean and approachable, which makes for a truly sessionable brew. Best we’ve had from Bozeman Brewing yet!
