I have had to travel to OKC a few times for work, and i have come here every time. Its a great bar with a great staff, a great selection of beer, and some pretty awesome stuff to munch on. I always sit at the bar and and up in a conversation with my stool neighbor or neighbors.

Cool place with industrial design theme. 36 rotating taps, so great selection of beers. Staff is awesome, very knowledgeable about the beers and able to give great recommendations. Cubano sandwich is spectacular.

Décor of this place is minimalist, but pretty nice. Loved the bar. Most patrons were young & dressed much nicer than. Perhaps they had come from work?

All beers poured were fresh & tasty

Service was prompt & friendly

36 taps, all quality. About a quarter were Oklahoma beers, with good mix of regional locals, nation-wide brewers & imports. Bottle selection was small

Food was tasty, menu is fairly limited though

Great place, but be warned the beers are pricey as hell. Not one of their pours was larger than 12 ozs. Couldn't afford to drink there on regular basis with $8-10 pints . You've been warned

Great selection of beers. That is all the good to say about this place. Beer snobbery at its finest, poor selection of food, and TERRIBLE service. I really wanted to like this place.

We went at lunch time and there were only two other customers so the low rating on Vibe has more to the fact that this place is still relatively new. I will go back again and have already invited many friends to check it out!

Wanting to kill some time on a lazy Friday afternoon, the wife and I decided to stop into Oak & Oar (one of the hipster haven Plaza District's newest additions) for a postprandial pint or two.

The first thing noticed upon entering is the surgical austerity of the white-tiled tap wall, a brilliant move that sets Oak & Oar apart from the get go. The Taplist included plenty of Oklahoma beers, including COOP, Anthem, Prairie and Marshall, as well as many of the best regionals and nationals available in-state. If you're looking for bottled beer, you've come to the wrong place. There's also a nice selection of whisky and scotch for those inclined to the more potent. I would have liked to see more one-offs and rarities, but I'm sure that will all take care of itself in time.

The physical space is sleek and clean but feels somewhat empty and could use more decor. The staff was friendly and helpful and the owner was involved with the clientele the entire time we were there; chatting folks up about all things beer. This level of personal interest can't be faked, and it shows in the final product.

Both of the beers I tried (Green Flash Soul Style and Avery Czar) were fresh, tasty and served properly. My wife had an Avery Ellie's Brown accompanied by the modern beer bar standard hummus plate, which she finished off without hesitation.

Focusing on quality rather than quantity, and attending to the finer details, Oak & Oar provides OKC with a fresh new addition to its ever-growing good beer scene, and I can only see this one improving with age.
