Very nice, smooth, not too heavy stout with some great coffee and chocolate flavors. Pours a nice deep dark rich brown color with some mild tan head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, malt, caramel, vanilla and brown sugar. Tastes similarly, and everything is just so well balanced. No overly sweet or cloying flavors. Smooth, rich, mildly creamy mouthfeel and just enough carbonation. Not as much depth and complexity when compared to imperial stouts, but for its style it was very delicious. Goes down very easily. Well done!

From BeerAdvocate magazine #131 (December 2017):

This Oatmeal Milk Stout pours pitch black with a rich, coffee-colored, creamy lace. It smells fresh and roasty like cold-brewed coffee, with a hint of hops. Full-bodied and viscous, with a slight chewiness and prickly carbonation beneath that creates a creamy and silky feel. Brewed with local San Diegan coffee from Mostra Coffee, this Stout drops plenty of roastiness, baker’s chocolate, bitter cacao nibs, espresso beans, cola, and dark cherries onto the palate, all of which folds into a rounded lacto sweetness with some oat bread notes. Semi-astringent with a dry finish and lingering coffee. Thanks to Abnormal for taking two things that I geek out over and mashing them together.

Coal black pour with a brown head. Aroma of dark roasted coffee and roasted malt. Taste has a burnt and bitter flavor to it with dark malt and espresso standing out most. Can also taste a hint of chocolate in the back end of the taste.

Pours coffee black with red ribbons, filling with a frothy, uneven tan head that settles to a thick bubbly collar.

Smell is both roasty malt and medium to dark roast coffee dusted with cocoa, accented by a hint of cola.

Taste has a dry and dusty medium roast coffee with a little tobacco and cocoa. A sweet strain of raisin and cola run along in the background.

A nice, medium frothy fulfilling body is a little tangy, yet has a drying, cocoa-like finish, but not as dry as you'd think.

I loved the nose on this. The aroma is very coffee-forward and the taste follows suit, with slight hints of dark fruit and bitter chocolate to go along with the bold espresso flavor. One of the easiest drinking dark beers I've had in some time.

had been hearing some buzz about these giys on social media for a minute and my curiosity piqued. growler courtesy of Freeldrcw, thanks for the goandoickitupformebro!!!

classic low abv stout looks of a watery brown with some lighter tones to the light. if you are into wood tones it has a nice cocobolo color to it. really rich and deep. nose is dominated by gourmet cold brew coffee. taste is really well rounded out with a good bitter bakers chocolate base mixed tastefully w cold brew. I am really excited about the new cold brew in beer movement. trillium is doing wonderful things with this as is abnormal. really light and easy drinking, particularly for a stout. great dessert vibe to it. glad to finally try some to try more! really incredible how they pack all that flavor into a plain old 5% stout. this is a home run in my book.
