Oatmeal Milk Stout with Coffee.

This luscious year-round coffee stout is made with beans from a local San Diego coffee roaster, Mostra Coffee. We then add a healthy does of cacao nibs creating velvety chocolate notes that compliment the subtle roastiness from the dark malts and coffee beans. Drink with breakfast, as a dessert, or both.

Mocha Stout, you don't have to be a coffee drinkers to love this beer.

Deep brown and thick pour out of the can. Wonderful bouquet; oat stands out the most. Strong flavor of coffee, somewhat sweet, kinda bitter finish. Sooth feel going down with little residue clinging to your taste buds.

12oz can poured into a snifter. Dark brown pour yields an opaque, nearly jet-black liquid in the glass, with a hefty dark khaki head; attractive looking stout for sure. The nose is full of strong impressions of coffee, fresh and roasty with nothing really to distract or take the beer in any other direction (which in this case, is a good thing to me). More robust coffee on the palate, medium roast, not light nor overly dark/burnt/acrid, though there is a steady bitterness from the authentic coffee flavors which I appreciate, as well as a dark cacao nib presence. Refreshing, not quite smooth mouthfeel, light-bodied but with a lot going on. This is a good coffee stout.

It’s almost there. I think. But the more I sip, the more I get ashtray from your grandmother’s Oldsmobile. At first, it hits pretty well, but then a sunny day turns into a tsunami and a forgot another pair of underwear.

"Best by 11/2/23"; drank 1/26/23 @ Roadrunner Lodge.

Opaque brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, bubbly tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.

Medium roast coffee bean, fresh earth & faint dark chocolate notes in the nose.

Creamy, medium mouthfeel.

Medium roast coffee bean, fresh earth & dark chocolate flavors.

Robust but easy to drink. A nice beer.

From a can to a Merkin Vinyards stemless wine glass.
Pours deep dark brown with a tan head that dissipates rapidly.
The coffee aroma is fantastic.
Roasted malts and coffee flavors are pronounced.
Medium body that is a tad thin for my preference.
Solid coffee milk stout that adequately showcases some phenomenal coffee.

Black, half finger of tan foam.

Sweet chocolate and coffee.

Chocolate not so present, more roasted malt than coffee and it's sorta s'mores-y. Graham cracker.

Thin, which is too bad. I forgot what stouts under 8% were like.

I am seldom a fan of milk stouts, since they seem somewhat thin and flat compared to many other stouts that I prefer, but this one hits the spot. Pouts a dep brown with tan head about 1-1/2 fingers high that dissipates to a thin ring and small island of thin foam within minutes. Leaves essentially no lacing. Upon the pour it releases the smell of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. The flavor is where this one shines, IMO. Not over the top in chocolate/coffee, but clearly discernable and NOT "fake/chemical" in nature. Creamy mouthfeel with more carbonation that I expected from a milk stout but still rather mild/subtle. Overall, probably my favorite milk stout that is appropriately named.

Canned 05/27/20. Pours nicely dark reddish brown black, with a stable light brown head. Smells nicely of roast and lightly sweet coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, plenty body for the ABV. Taste is fairly sweet, mostly roasty, and with a good hit of creamy coffee.

12oz can served in a SIP Fest 2020 snulip. Canned 04/14/20.

Pours black with little head or carbonation. Smell is not super powerful, but rich and creamy, coffee and chocolate.

Taste is fairly strong coffee, but a significant amount of creaminess and sweetness, with a medium to light dose of chocolate.

Mouthfeel is medium -- not too heavy, not to light, not too sticky. Overall, solid beer.
