650ml bottle, 2016 vintage, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, cola coloured hue, one finger mocha head, good retention, small rings of lacing. Smells of rich cocoa, milk chocolate, espresso, touch of vanilla, just the right amount of peppery heat that doesn't get overwhelming even as the beer warms. Lots of cinnamon. It works remarkably well in this one for some reason. Reminds me a lot of Huna, although there is more cocoa and pepper character to it. Flavour follows; milk chocolate, espresso, cinnamon, cocoa. The vanilla isn't really as apparent on the palate, but it seems to contribute a bit more to the mouthfeel, where it is more of a mild marshmallowy coating on the finish. The mouthfeel is full bodied, rich and creamy and a pleasure to drink. It's difficult to reconcile this beer's non-barrel aged status, for all the adjuncts make this a remarkably well executed and complex mexican chocolate stout. It's spicy, but not too spicy for me.

Never heard of this beer, got sent as part of a thank you - so went in blind.

Holy crap! The nose is chocolate and sweet peppers. The taste is awesome. Waves of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and finishes with some lovely pepper heat. but NOT hot.

I enjoyed this more than Mexican cake and more than many vintages of Huna. What a lovely beer and masterfully blended.

Absolutely terrific. I enjoyed it more than Barrel Aged Abraxas. I'm usually not big on beers that use peppers in them but this was fantastic. Easily my favorite non BA beer.

650 mL bottle. Inky black body with a very slight khaki head. Smells great. Cinnamon and graham cracker. Peppers, vanilla, and a little fudge. Tastes almost as good. Very intense cinnamon. Peppers. Bitter chocolate, but still has a strong sweet finish. Lingering vanilla. Medium heavy. Good blend of spices and stout.

Nose dominated by cinnamon, with underlying cocoa and pepper notes. Palate starts as a cinnamon bomb with rich chocolate coming in soon behind and finishing with chili pepper. Rich, decadent mouthfeel. Not bad, but way too heavy-handed on the cinnamon for my taste.
