Style: American Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Double Hazy IPA gets a little restless. Luckily we have enough hops to keep this beer satisfied and satisfying. A substantial amount of body and malty sweetness are present to support the higher ABV and enormous dry hop. Expect to see an exciting new combination of classic, new-school, and/or experimental hops in every batch with the occasional repeat of some favorites.

Fresh can into a tulip glass. Cloudy, orange/unfiltered apple juice color. Not too much head and lacing on the glass. Smells of melon, pineapple, very very ripe strawberry, pine, and aged chardonnay. It smells of chardonnay grape at a cooler temp but disappears as it warms. Sweet, ripe tropical fruit flavors with a spicy finish. The hops are there and perfectly balanced with the sweet flavors. It's a medium to full bodied beer. I was hoping for a bit more creaminess in the carbonation but still and excellent beer! You did it again Con Fact!

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, green session. Really hazy bright yellow color. Aroma has dank hops, chives and grassy notes. Taste has overripe tart citrus fruits and some astringent hops with a light bitterness.

Pours a bright yellow with notes of peach. Thin white head that dissipates quickly. Nose is of sweet pineapple, melon, light citrus and banana. A bit of light cracker maltyness as well. Taste is very pleasant. Melon and sweet light pinnable notes pair with mellow banana like notes and berries. Almost a bit ester like when fermented at a higher temperature. It is enjoyable tho. Hoppy bite with a subdued bitterness. Body is on the thin side and can feel watered down at points. Because of this but it does work and make this beer with the combo of fruity and light a pleasant easy drinking beverage.

I was given a can of this bad boy during a 1-year-olds birthday party on a HOT summer day and it was the perfect beer for the occasion. Hoppy but not overly so, smooth, and slightly fruity/sweet. It comes in at 8.5% but is so light tasting that it feels more like something in the 5% range. I could easily have crushed another one (or two) of these.

On tap at Toronado. Amazingly murky, like a nitro pour, but it stays absolutely opaque amberish. Just a wisp of foam in the pint shaker. Shy aromas with hints of citrus. Very malty to start, then a very fruity taste.

Pineapple flavor, and I can't help thinking of unfiltered apple juice. After a while the murk gets to me. I want to clear my throat. Maybe a chaser should be part of the program. Tastes fine for a couple of sips, and then the gunky yeast and sludgy hop sludge gets to me. Moderately bitter.
