Picked up a 16 oz Mason Jar draft on 6-7-19 from the Craft Beer Quick Stop for $2.00. Consumed on 6-12-19.

Beer poured cloudy golden orange with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is very nice, fresh orange and mango is very pungent.

Taste is a lightly crafted pale malt base with a very nice infusion of orange and mango. Mild pulp bitterness in the finish - 4/10 on my bitterness scale.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and very refreshing.

Overall a very nice representation of the NEIPA style.

Hazy bright yellow color, white head. Aroma is tropical with white grape notes and ripe peaches. Taste is really juicy and fruity with tropical and ripe stone fruit notes. Medium body and carbonation. Really nice one, juicy and easy drinking.

A 1 pint can, with a canned on date of 18th September 2018, ‘sexy brewers calender 2019’. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: A hazy yellow orange colour with a two finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left only sparse lacing.

Aroma: Melon, pineapple, citrus rind, grapefruit zest with hints of mango and peach.

Taste: Mango, peach, melon, citrus rind, orange juice and grapefruit with light bitterness on the backend.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: A nice fruity NEIPA that is easy to drink.

To be honest, like Lady Gaga’s career, I’m a bit surprised. Though to be honest, Raul ain’t gonna play Gaga like that, because at least she’s unique. In Hazy Dreams, all we have is another boring and standard hazy that is palatable. So if Raul can, he’s gonna rewind it back and not call this the Lady Gaga or Hazy’s, it’s more like the Kelly Clarkson.

Delicious IPA that really delivers both taste and drinkability. Looks nice, yellow-orange hazy color with some fluffy head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells amazing - nice light fruity and piney hops. Tastes of loads of great fruit - orange, lemon, grapefruit, mango, passionfruit, guava - as well as piney and herbal hops, caramel, vanilla and a great malt backbone. Perfect amount of hoppy bitterness and fades just a little in the aftertaste. Smooth mild mouthfeel, great carbonation. Will check out more beers from this brewery. Perhaps not quite as juicy as some other New England-style IPAs but it’s so tasty and flavorful and well-balanced that it still blew me away.

A: Orange juice with a thin head
S: Tangerine, mango, pineapple, hint of lime, berry fruit snacks, guava
T: Sweet mango, tangerine, guava, lower grassy bitterness, passion fruit, lime on finish
M: Light and pillowy
O: No unwanted hop/yeast burn like too many midwest examples of the style!!!! Very great example of the style and welcome after too many others that rely too much on yeast esters or a "green" cryo-hop profile

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
From: Barons Market in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $15.99 for a 4-pack
Purchased: June 17, 2018
Consumed: June 17, 2018
Reviewed as: New England Style
Misc.: Canned on May 24, 2018

Saw this at Barons Market after a visit to North Park Beer Company. Thought $15.99 was a fair price for this one. Had had it twice before, giving both tasters at 4.25 on Untappd. Description online read, “Aggressively hop forward nose lending waves of citrus, resin, and tropical fruits. Medium bodied from oats and unmalted wheat with a hop heavy finish of fresh squeezed orange juice and hints of grapefruit.” Mentioned hops were Nugget, Cascade, Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra, with the latter three as my three favorite.

Poured a hazy pale color with two fingers of off-white head. Some slow moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled melon, citrus, orange juice, peach, grass and floral. In terms of hops really only got Citra and light Mosaic from the glass. More flavor from the can with Simcoe, papaya, pine, Mosaic and Citra shining through. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted a little better than the nose. Got orange juice, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, papaya, hay and floral. In terms of hops, in order got Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, woody Nugget and piney Cascade. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, grassy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Not as good from the can as the previous two times I had it on draft. Maybe will come back and try it again on draft. (Overall - 4.00)

Not one of the better hazy IPAs to come out of the region. This IPA suffers from the mouthfeel. It's kind of an identity crisis IPA, it's like a west coast in some areas and an East coast in others but just doesn't execute very well. The mango/citrus qualities are subdued nothing really pops. First sip was a bit offending because of the yeast profile. It's getting better over time just nothing i would buy again at the price point.

Hazy light gold pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of pine and tropical fruit. Taste is resiny with a good bit of pine coming through initially. Can also taste a bit of grapefruit, pineapple, mango and bitter fruit rind.

The best hazy IPA from Southern California that I’ve had, and I’ve had just about all of them. This is the closest beer to Treehouse that I’ve had. World class!

16oz can, dated 1.22.18, poured into an 8oz tumbler glass.

The beer pours a hazy and turbid amber color, orange and gold hues with a faint fuzzy white head, hardly any height and no remarkable retention or lace. The aroma is nice, juicy tropical fruits meet dank piney and grassy hops, lightly floral, sweet grain and yeast, fairly pungent. The flavors are very expressive, lots of juicy tropical fruits, pineapple, orange juice, mango, passion fruit and papaya with dank green hops, grassy and raw with sweet yeast and pale grains. The mouthfeel is good, heavy medium body, thick and chewy that coats well and finishes easily.

Verdict: A very nice IPA from Abnormal, juicy, hazy, heavy but refreshing. Perhaps a bit green and not as bright as I’d like, but solid nonetheless.
