Notes:
Put on your bathing suit, boat shoes and nautical ware and get ready to drift away! This new Cream Ale gets a heavy dose of toasted coconut and Madagascar vanilla beans. Sabro hops balance the sweetness and add an extra layer of coconut to the beer. Get ready to swing the jib with this beer in hand, you old sailor, you!

Imperial Pint
Look: Golden yellow with the slightest tint of haze, poured a 1/2 finger head which dissipated into a thin cap
Smell: First hit is citrus and juicy hops, with a light undertone of fresh sweet coconut, vanilla, and light malt
Taste: Light-mod bitter hops first with a undertone of toasted coconut. Followed by light malt, hint of vanilla and coconut. Bitterness lingers
Feel: Light body, with moderate carbonation and crisp finish
Overall: The hops bitterness lingers for too long, and the coconut is under represented

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: Cream Ale
Glass: North Park 16-oz. Willi Becher glass
Price: $3.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 13, 2021
Consumed: Sept. 15, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date; Best by Dec. 15, 2021
Snuck over to Windmill Farms before heading to Pure Project and North Park, mainly to see what kind of newish North Park stuff they had. Came across this one from Abnormal. Abnormal’s website called this “Put on your bathing suit, boat shoes and nautical ware and get ready to drift away! This new Cream Ale gets a heavy dose of toasted coconut and Madagascar vanilla beans. Sabro hops balance the sweetness and add an extra layer of coconut to the beer. Get ready to swing the jib with this beer in hand, you old sailor, you!”
Poured a straw-to-pale yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides and bottom of the glass. World-class spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled coconut, vanilla bean ice cream, Sabro, vanilla wafer cookie, vanilla milkshake and grain. About the same from the can with the addition of some pilsner malt. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was a touch below the can. In order got coconut, vanilla, vanilla bean ice cream, Sabro, vanilla wafer cookie, vanilla milkshake, lager yeast and grain. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Maybe not quite as I hoped from Abnormal, but it shows how much I like them. Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)
