Poured into a pint glass at the Stony Creek Brewery yesterday. Pours inky black with a little tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Strong aroma, big coffee on the nose with some sweet and roasted malt to back it up. More mixed on the flavor, roasted malt, big coffee, cacao, slightly bitter and dry. Surprisingly lighter than expected body, easy to drink, maybe a bit too thin. Overall a super tasty beer and my first from Outer Light. If they keep this up they will definitely make a fan out of me!

Wow, I have never had any beer with so much coffee aroma and flavor. It reminds me of chewing on coffee beans.

As a stout, this beer needs some more strength: more stout in my coffee, please. There is a bit of bitter roast, but it's easily lost behind the coffee. Further, some chocolate malt presence would provide welcome depth.

However, this beer is exactly as advertised: it is a coffee beer, through and through. It won't become my go-to coffee stout, but it might just replace my morning coffee...

Poured from a 12 oz can into a shaker pint.

Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of khaki head. The head sticks around for awhile, leaving plenty of sticky lacing as it goes. Finally settles into a golden halo around the top of the beer.

The aroma is straight up coffee grounds. Ever stick your nose into a fresh bag of coffee? That's this aroma. It's kind of ridiculous, but there isn't much else going on unfortunately. There's a hint of dark chocolate and char, but the aroma is just coffee for days.

The taste pretty much follows the nose. It tastes like a fresh cup of coffee. There's some subtle chocolate, and even more subtle hops on the finish. But once again coffee is the dominant note.

The feel is medium-light bodied with lower carbonation. Somewhat smooth with a ton of lingering bitterness.

Overall, a pretty good stout that could definitely use more balance. Coffee is definitely in the driver's seat here, and everything else is barely hanging onto the bumper. Still, if you like coffee you will like this stout.

64oz growler filled at Outer Light minutes ago. Pours a pitch black color with a 1/2 inch of frothy khaki head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is lots of coffee with some nice roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, earth and a hint of charcoal. The taste is all about the coffee. Lots of great coffee flavor with some roasted notes and a hint of dark chocolate in the background. Tastes boozier than the ABV would lead one to believe. The finish is more of that great coffee flavor. Mouthfeel is a bit light for the style but that and the lower ABV may make it more drinkable. This is definitely one of the most coffee flavored beers that claim to be "coffee" whatever I have had. Overall, fantastic and worth seeking out.

Sampling from a 2L growler poured cold into a snifter. The beer pours a rich cola brown color with no light passing through the glass. Creamy beige head of 2 cm foams up and fades gradually to a sturdy surface layer.
Aroma is rich with roasted malt and some coffee grinds. No booze presence or hops on the nose.
First sip reveals a smooth texture and medium body, not quite as thick as I anticipated from the pour. Very fine carbonation that makes this an easy drinking beer.
The flavor is a bit of sweet molasses and rolls to roasted malt and coffee notes. No hops nor alcohol here. Coffee notes linger long after each swallow and I have a dry roast taste in my mouth after each swallow.
Smooth easy drinking coffee stout. I would like a little thicker body, but otherwise this is a well crafted brew.

Dark black. Tan head that is fairly frothy.

Smells like coffee beans and dark chocolate malts. No alcohol.

Taste is pretty much all coffee, but in a good way. Very smooth and rich. I dont find it bitter, especially for as forward as it is. Some roasted malts are in the backseat.

It has a pretty good texture. Just a hair thinner than I thought it would be, or prefer it to be. Drinks like an Irish Stout a bit to me. Kind of dry at the end which is my biggest knock.

While it does not wow me in most aspects, it does when it comes to the taste.

Almost a deep ruby red not quite black thru and thru. Serious coffee aroma, almost a mocha like presence. Just a killer stout and coffee combo of flavors going on. Coffee is a but sharp in spot. Nice roasted flavors between the stout and coffee-very well intermingled and balanced. A tad thinner then I would like but still very full bodied. A great, great beer. I have not found a coffee beer I would stack against my local Evolution Rise Up Stout. This is on the edge of being it's twin.
