The beer poured well with the right cloudy color and a good amount of foam. It's smell was okay and fit the style: no strong flavors but with a little lemon.
The beer tasted strongly of bubblegum. It was sweet and artificially fruity. I could taste a bit of lemon, but the candy flavor (and I don't mean candy like the candy sugar flavors you get in Beglian ales) was potent and very unpleasant. It felt too thick to drink as well and wasn't refreshing. For the rest of the evening after this drink, I had no appetite for beer.

This growler was shared at Alewatcher and Oreo's birthday bash. It poured a hazy, murky vibrant gold in color with a white lacing around the glass. It looked great. The aromas, oh man! It wreaks of sweet creamed corn. I sure as hell didn't expect that to happen. It's awkward and obnoxious. I expected yeast, cloves, bananas but got none of that. The flavors too, of overly sweet creamed corn. I didn't think that was possible. It's like a crazy corn casserole in a glass. It drinks medium in body and leaves the sweet grainy flavor behind. How are people saying that this is on the level of Weihenstephaner? Dear god they aren't even in the same league, let alone comparable. I'm extremely thankful for getting to try this one but man was it a disappointment.

Came with a finger's worth of bone-white head with low retention. Nose was heavy on banana with an undercurrent of clove. Color was a hazy golden-yellow. Mouthfeel was medium with a LOT of banana esters on the tongue. Stylistically, a great example, especially for an American brewer, but for me, I was shiveringly cold on it. Finish was not a total fruit bomb, but it was too close for my liking. Cloves, people! Fermentation at lager temps, please.

In the glass it looks like a yeasty effervescent gold color that shows potential. The aroma is lacking the pop or pronounced yeasty banana aromas i look for and desire in a great hefe, there is some faint wheat like aromas but i need more. The flavors are in the same boat with a hole in it, there is that wheat aspect with light bubblegum and a lacking clove/banana background that needs a megaphone. mouthfeel is a bit less then creamy with lacking carbination. weihenstephaner kills it, with violence.

I can see why people love this beer but to myself the clove and banana is just a strange taste.

Sadly disappointed... Excellent foam and cloud, everything else was awful.

Too pungent of a citrus taste.

A - cloudy, nice thick head, very inviting. golden colored.

S - had an assault of smells going on here, which is something I like, but it was hard to really hammer down the many smells, i picked out a mix of spices, some coriander, a little fruitiness.

T - very flavorful, which i appreciate, however, i felt it was off. perhaps it was the hype that let me down here. strong spices, a some light fruitiness.

M - light and crisp, but unpleasant after taste.

D - not great drink ability.

This beer did not do it for me, others who were with me who tasted it, had mixed feelings as well.

Growler courtesy of Hopsleeroy. Thanks!

A - Pours hazy light golden. 1/4 inch head disappates quickly to a thin ring around the glass and small light lacing.

S - Cooked banana and bubble gum is prominent, followed by crispter fruits and spices underneath.

T- Taste similar to smell, but add sour note.

M - Man, I don't know if this is the style or what, but thin, watering, light. Very little carbonation even though it was tightly taped for shipment. Disappointing. Really sour in the finish.

D - Interesting, and glad I tried it, but one glass is all I need of this one.
