This is a college bar, loud and crowded during the times when the college set prowls the night, so expect to have to fight your way to the bar when you want to order a drink. If you manage to battle your was past the frat boys and bachelorette parties waving phallic straws in your face and asking for help with their scavenger hunts (this really happened when I was there), you'll have a large selection of beers that will soon seem smaller once you realize that several of the bottles and taps are versions of Woodchuck and various malternatives (how many Mike's drinks are there?). Still, you'll find plenty of good stuff, mixing micros and imports. I ordered cheese and crackers and got deli slices on Saltines. I guess they have some better food choices, but that effort at cheese and crackers was just sad.

Smoky basement with no ventilation. Great taps and jukebox but you'll have emphysema after 2 pints.

Echo everyone's comments that smoke it little much and eventually chases you out of there, really too bad as the selection is great

I upgraded the "vibe" score because the music was mercifully country-free.

It's a neat little, low ceilinged place on the edge of the tourist district. Don't bring anyone sensitive to smoke, but it's an excellent escape from the country kitsch up the street.

I have to admit that I was disappointed by the Beer Sellar. It's got a great look and feel to it, but the smoke from so many cigarettes hung like a cloud and ruined my tastebuds.

I was also excited for 50 beers on tap, but in the end they're not really that exciting. There are 11 local taps but they're pretty much beers that you can get anywhere else (only the Calf Killer and Depot Street beers were unusual). Beyond that almost 10% was made up of BMC Light and Yuengling. There are 6 imports with the standouts being Chimay Cinq Cents and Lindemans Framboise, and Stella, Boddingtons, Newcastle Brown and Young's Double Chocolate rounding it out. But that's not the worst. What I found excruciating was that of the remaining 29 taps from across the country, they were all pretty basic as well (Goose Island Honkers, Abita Purple Haze, New Belgium Fat Tire, Magic Hat #9, etc.).

I didn't try any food because of all of the cigarette smoke despite the fact that I'd actually intended to eat there as they've got hot beef sandwiches. What I saw looked good, and I thought the prices were quite reasonable.

In the end I think it could be a great place, but the smoke ruined it for me and the tap selection wasn't everything it could have been. The relaxed feel and the interesting interior coupled with the food and prices would otherwise make it a great place to hang out for a while.

This place has a lot of taps, but you see a lot of familiar beers on tap too. Not an amazing tap list more of the usual suspects if you are from a good distro area you will not be impressed. Also if you don't smoke be prepared you can smoke in here which I miss about bars just seems like a place you should smoke even though I quit quite a while ago. The bartender knew what he had on tap though the only problem frosted shaker pints. I think even though they have a craft list there business thrives on coors and bud. Awesome jukebox great pool tables just a nice place good bar to hit with a bunch of friends.

Had around 50 taps, but the atmosphere is that of a smokey roadhouse pool hall.

Back in college, this was my go-to bar with friends when we were in the 2nd and Lower Broad area (where all the tourists go). Great place to go for some good beer and actually be able to talk with people or play some pool. Watched a few Preds games and enjoy far too many happy hours here. They have great specials that change every so often (we went to a number of "Pint Nights" over the summer where you could get a rare beer and a logo'd pint glass for $4).

Food is bar food. But for bar food, it's fantastic. Admittedly I was always a few beers in whenever I ate, but I was never disappointed. Don't go here for the food, but if you stay long enough it's pretty good, especially compared to the surrounding alternatives that range from $$$$ fancy to $$$ shit (okay, SATCO a few blocks away is solid).

Beer selection changes frequently but always pretty good. Lots of bottles and 20ish taps. You can find a lot of local beer as well as some more foreign (state and country) stuff. Cheap prices on pitchers. Have fond memories of sharing some pitchers of Sam Adam's Imperial Russian Stout here for around $10 a pitcher.

Staff is great. Never had a bad experience. When it's slow they love to talk beer and I've been allowed to sample stuff as well as getting a freebie here and there.

This is a somewhat divey bar with smoking, pool, and southern accents. If you want classy, go to Flying Saucer and pay a little more. But even as a person who hates smoking, sucks at pool, and thanks God every day I managed to grow up in the South without an accent, I do love this bar and look forward to going back me next time I'm in Music City.

While being in town for the East Nashville Beer Festival, I checked out this place last weekend, the night of the festival. Sounding like a good place to get a few craft beers, attended.

Before walking in, just note, this place takes a while to walk to from the bridges or Broadway! Walking down the steps we were met by numerous pool tables and then a cloud of smoke?!?! Oh no! This can't be... Had to stay for a beer at least. This quality is VERY important in a beer bar/restaurant in order for myself to enjoy a good beer. The aroma gets destroyed.

Service was good. Came straight to the bar, was hooked up with a beer menu, ordered and closed my tab. Nothing tough about this transaction.

Their list was great! Offering over 100 beers easily, I went with a Chimay since I've never had this on-tap!?!? How wild.

A nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy beer but I warned you... Smoking is allowed here! Probably won't be coming back because of this reason.
