Flyway Pils is a North German style pilsner, which are distinctive in their high hopping rates and clean, dry body. We combine extra premium pale German pilsner malt with the most American ingredient of all, flaked maize, which dries the body out nicely, and we hop it exclusively with a noble-style American hop called Vanguard. The beer displays a nice spiciness with a subtle fruited note, and finishes clean and dry.

Pale straw with a modest white cap that leaves decent lacing. Mild aroma with hints of minty herbs. A slight sweetness up front in the taste, again with a hint of mint, followed by some light bitterness on the backend. Pretty clean tasting. Light bodied with heavy carbonation. Nothing worth seeking out, but perfectly drinkable.

Just another pissner attempting to get attention with artwork rather than the art of making a great Pilsner.
A bit spicy at the end. No noble hops coming through at all. Pale gold, weak head.
Unimpressed. They should focus on making overhopped IPAs or hipster alco seltzers.

Draft at the airport tap house
Creamy frothy 1 finger head with moderate retention, big lacing, mostly clear pale color
Nose big noble hops, grassy, floral, herbal, hint lemony, sweet grainy malts, little doughy cake
Taste starts with some grainy sweet pilsner malt, little doughy, straw, quickly into big noble hops, very floral grassy, a bit herbal, fruity undertones, med bitterness, dry semi crisp finish with big spicy hop bitterness lingering
Mouth is med bod, soft lager, med to higher prickly carb
Overall not bad, not quite enough malt and maybe a tad too much of the big hop character but still a decent German pils

Bottle poured into a Drake's Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours golden straw with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Dank, grassy, herbal, kinda skunky, citrus zest, a hint of spice, and grainy crackery malt.
T: Grassy, citrus, lemon and lime zest, dank herbal notes, floral, a little spice, grainy crackery malt, and a dry finish.
M: Light body, moderate carbonation.
O: The last time I tried this I didn't rate it because I thought it was off. Second time around, now I know that skunky element is there on purpose. Not my favorite, but it's slowly growing on me.

Pour: 19.2 oz can poured into a wine glass. Empty stomach.
Head: 1/2 inch head with even rocky bubbles that dissipate to a thin white rim within one minute. Head completely disappeared after 5 minutes with no lacing.
Color: Clear and pale.
Aroma: Starts with a mild aroma of banana, vanilla, caramel, hops and ginger. And a pleasant fruity fragrance of bananas and pine apples grows stronger as the beer gets warmer.
Taste: Bland, light and dry. Falls short of what the amazing aroma promises. No sweetness at all. Slightly sour like diluted lemon water. Metallic taste and bitterness of hops lingers at the end.
Carbonation: Medium to high.
Would drink again? No

Pale straw color, a bit hazy. Pours decent white head with good retention
Clean aroma with a light floral/spicy hop aroma.
Fairly big hop flavor and bitterness. Nice clean, somewhat bitter finish.
Medium body and med-high carbonation. Makes it crisp and refreshing.
A nice, clean hoppy Pilsner. Always happy to see well made American versions.
