Tap to Taster
@Drakes Brewing, San Leandro, CA
App- The darkest of the three and had no light shining through the center of the glass. A good 1/2" of head that was off tan and left some amazing cling and lace.
Smell- The golden ale really comes out on this one and makes it more alive and vibrant. A good amount of chocolate and malts as well. The blending of this one makes a pretty creative note.
Taste- I liked this the best of the three. Had much more depth from the golden ale and then from the brandy drakonic. Brandy aged blends make for a fuller less prickly flavor and adds a good amount of a fruit layer.
Mouth- Very full bodied and then goes into the paired carbonation. A good amount of a peppery gold ale and then layered with the Brandy sweetness.
Drink- Probably the best of the 3 barrel aged beers I had at Drakes because of the depth of flavor and how integrated these all were.
