A great place for good in-state and out-of-state (as far away as CA) beer in the scenic foothills of NC. Pisgah National Forest signs over the bar. Interesting art and local history. A must-stop-in when/if in Morganton.

Very cool shop with an excellent selection, with the local NC choices being particularly great (think Wicked Weed, Zebulon, etc.). I didn't have time to sit at the bar--as I was heading for Fonta Flora, right down the block, and futher en route to Asheville--but it seemed like a good hang-out, with lots of good selections on tap. Dark atmosphere even in the daytime, although there was a small outdoor area too.
Recommended.

Visited here last August, just found my notes.
Nice laid back atmosphere, they sell some high-end cheese, smoked trout, & other light bar snacks
Quality of all the beers tried on premises or purchased for later use were great
Service was top notch & friendly. I told owner I would like to buy more beer, ran of room in my cooler. He came up with a few Styrofoam coolers for me, win/win
Only a few beers in tap, but plenty to buy for take home, nice emphasis on NC beers. Better selection in Boone or Hickory, but really worth a go if in Morganton

Worst pub we've been in for years for customer service. We visited on 8/1/2015 to be greeted by a loose pit bull and a bartended who had no interest in our fear of this dog.

This is a nice little bottle shop in "downtown" Morganton. Excellent selection of North Carolina beers in addition to regional and national beers. They have about 5 beers on draft and a nice bar. There is an area of seating and some of the seating reminded me of a coffee shop. They sell their own merchandise and they also sell other local products. The only thing I thought that was odd was that if you drink from the bar, you have to be a "member." Membership costs $1 (or $150 to be an annual beer club member which has additional perks). Apparently, there are certain local laws in Morganton where that is something the beer shop had to do. I was told the laws should change within the next year. Regardless, I will certainly go back. They also have live music on certain nights. . The prices are fair in my opinion. I think this is an excellent local shop that obviously cares about craft beer and the local community.
