12 oz freshie can "canned yesterday"' I'm told by the bartender at the brewery.

Pours with a nice looking medium haze, some loose froth and fine sheeting and strands of lacing left on the glass.

Fresh grapefruit/pineapple sniff.

Fruity, citric, fresh and delicious...quality pale ale in a can. Life is good, go get some

look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: Pours slightly hazy with a golden/amber hue; the cap sticks at one finger and leaves clumps of lacing

Smell: Fresh and bright aromatics, with papaya, lychee and a hint of grapefruit

Taste: Tropical tones, up front, with papaya and lychee; in the middle, modest grapefruit bitterness builds; nicely balanced between the tropical fruit and the citrus, through the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A refreshing, easy-drinking APA; very enjoyable

Bright gold, plenty carbonated, frothy collar of foam, lasting coverage.
Clean hoppy aroma, citrusy and snappy. Pleasant.

Taste is moderately bitter, clean dry finish, with a nice hop character. Grassy, Cascade orange peel bitterness. Light bodied, dry and crisp, pretty straightforward with zero flaws. Blah, blah, wall of text, etc. Just a textbook solid hoppy APA that was very drinkable, can't go wrong with that.

Poured a clear, copper color. Nice head retention and it left sticky rings of lace. It smelled piney with some mild citrus notes. It tasted of pine and citrus with a sweet caramel backbone. Good balance.

Excellent hopped pale ale. Mildly bitter and hoppy like a sessionable IPA. Golden in color with medium body and bitterness. Poured into an American Pint at a beer bar in KC.

i had higher hopes for this, as i was told these guys were at the top of the local scene out there, but while i found a delicious pale ale, i didnt find a beer unique enough to stand out from the crowd of other pale ales on the scene. its nice and light, and i like that a lot, not a ton of grain heft or sweetness, and its very well carbonated and dry, all features i really dig in an american pale ale. the hops just leave a bit to be desired. they are bright and floral and springy and fresh, but they seem low dosed, and the bitterness on the back end of this is over the top. good for one but then too bitter on later rounds. it lingers and hampers my ability to taste beers after this one, it was intense for being not that hoppy on the flavorful side. still, it was refreshing because of its lightness and quite well made, i just expected it to really make an impression, and im not quite sure it did. i preferred the monk and honey that they did, and was happy to see such a unique brew in their lineup. always awesome to travel and try beers from a place you never even heard of...
