Pours an opaque orange that turned a murky, turdy brown in the 2018 release. Color is fine in the 2018 draft version Head retention is a finger in height and white in color in both. Aroma is orange, tangerine, papaya with the draft version and lags behind in the can. Flavor profile is big tangerine, orange, and papaya landing a strong trio hit for the draft version. The 2018 can version lags behind. Mouth feel is velvety and medium-thick, but develops a chalky texture that knocks it down a bit. Overall, a solid attempt at the NE IPA for the area, but still pales to other options.

12oz can. Poured out a pale, straw-yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. it left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of pineapple, mango, grapefruit and toasted caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with a sharp piney bite and a toasted caramel backbone.

Pour is a hazy straw color with very little mouth feel to it. The aroma of the brew is pleasantly fruity with a touch of floral. Unfortunately the aroma is as good as it gets with this one. The taste is extremely watered down, and I wish I was exaggerating. It was as if they filled the 12 ounce can with 3 ounces of brew and then topped the rest off with tap water. Overall this is just another example of the plethora of underwhelming craft beers currently being brewed in the Kansas City area. KC Breweries for some reason lack creative vision or the ability to push the envelope and develop beers that will wow or even awaken your taste buds. That's another story though. I'd skip this one!

Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip, no date listed on the can
Look: Opaque, faded golden straw with a thin, white head.
Smell: Overripe fruit, somewhat floral, touch of citrus, with a hint of straw.
Taste: More overripe fruit, touch of sweetness from the malt, bit of wet grass with a nice hop bite on the end.
Feel: A little on the thin side, more like a lower abv pale.
Overall: A good representation of the style. I feel it could benefit from a fuller body, but still highly enjoyable. There’s not many hazy IPAs consistently coming out of Kansas City and Fog Machine is a nice early attempt. I’ll be anxious to see and taste how this style continues to progress in the KC beer scene.

Hazy, juicy, sweet, with some earthy and medicinal qualities as well that weren't as pleasant. Glad to see KC breweries trying their hand at NE style IPAs.
