No gimmicks here. Just a chalkboard describing the fifty beers on tap. The majority being local brews with a respectable representation from across the border, rounded out by some familiar Canadian and International standbys.
The staff here really stands out. On my initial visit, I was overwhelmed with a lot of unfamiliar names. The Bartender asked what I was looking for in the way of style and flavour, and promptly offered me a sample (or two) before having me commit. He was spot on with every selection. I definitely spend a few hours here when I'm in Victoria.

Visited on a Tuesday around dinner. Slow. Ten people in the bar.
Disappointed with the overall vibe.
V - An English pub in name only. Few standard English beers on. Mainly local, NW. Not getting a good vibe from this place. Seems a bit conceived, fake. Shoe horned into the available space. 3.5
Q - EVERTHING in shaker and nonic pints. 3.5
Ser - No beer list. You must read off the big chalk board, but that can be difficult if not seated in the right place or otherwise visually challenged like some of us. Bartender seemed to know is stuff, but was otherwise aloof and distracted by things unrelated to customer service. 3.5
Sel - A great selection. 50 beers, with a big focus on local. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the local breweries are lacking at the moment. 4.0
