Style: Irish Red Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
Rondy Brew 2010 is an easy-to-please Irish red ale that will have you asking for another. Pale, caramel and biscuit malts lend toasty aromas and flavors, while mild citrusy hop bitterness nicely balances the beer. We hope you’ll enjoy this year’s version of Rondy Brew and show your support for the great events of the 75th Anniversary of Fur Rendezvous.

Thanks to AmericanBrew for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an amber color with a huge white head. The aroma is toffee and some grassy notes. The flavor is toffee, grass and earth, with a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

I love trying beers from Midnight Sun, but I am not a fan of Irish Red Ales and this beer doesn't do much for me.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing yet another Midnight Sun beer.

A: The pour on this one is an amber color with a nice big off-white head forming.

S: The nose is rather bland and one note. Sort of muddled bread characteristics with a bit of toffee and caramel, but mostly just sweet bread.

T: A fairly similar story on the palate, unfortunately. A lot of bread and some lightly sweet toffee, along with a subtle hop bitterness.

M: The body is medium and so is the carbonation. There's a mild dryness on the finish.

D: This beer was by no means bad. It just wasn't anything special or memorable. I don't think a beer has to be "EXTREME" to be good, but there's got to be at least some interesting flavor.
