Orono Brewing Company

 

 

I stopped in when visiting my daughter and enjoyed the beer and atmosphere very much. The menu had a nice selection of pub type food (and tasty too). I will be returning when I visit again.

They now have a new Orono location and it is no longer small as mentioned in previous reviews. Great vibe, games, lots of events, nice outdoor seating (in summer) and really fantastic beers. Do Drop In!

Really friendly, laid back place to hang out...I am vegetarian and they include the vegie burger in their beer and burger Monday night special...my hang out on Mondays

 

 

One of my favorite places to go for a drink when I have the time and a chance. I've never been disappointed.

 

This is a small place, I'd wager that my living room is larger than this tasting bar, but it hasn't been a problem the times I've gone. Small patio outside for when it warms up. If you have any vinyl requests, or want to bring in your own, they'll be more than happy to play some tunes.

They only serve their own beer of which they usually have 8 or so different drafts available. Some drafts also are nitro served if you're looking for something different. They do have a few snack options but I've yet to have anything from them so I can't speak of the quality of food. But I can speak of the quality of their beers, I've yet to be disappointed yet and their creativity with brews for such a small place is amazing.

Service has always been attentive, but in such a small place it's hard to be ignored. When getting growler fills, they pay special precaution to make sure they're cleaned, they'll re-rinse/disinfect and before they fill the growlers they'll hit it with CO2 to purge the oxygen from the container.

Whenever I visit family in the area, I make certain to stop by and get a couple growlers to go. Tis a shame this place didn't exist when I was at UMaine.

 

Found the beers pretty average. My favorite was their stout. The draft room didn't have food. Across the street wAs a full service restaurant

Small but very friendly and inviting tap room with an outside patio for the warmer months ( or all year round for the diehard Mainers) Beer selections changes frequently. I have not had a bad beer yet. Very limited food menu. Family friendly. I try to stop in every time we are visiting in the area.
