I’ve enjoyed Devil’s Purse beers on the Cape, so I was glad to pay a visit.

There is a nice view of the production space, everything seems very clean and souvenir glasses and other merchandise are available. The staff, however, didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming, and patrons were directed to port-a-sans in the parking lot, even though the taproom has indoor restrooms.

Honestly, the atmosphere at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis or Naukabout Brewery in Mashpee seemed much nicer.

The person at the register said that Devil’s Purse has been in South Dennis, MA, since 2015, which would seem like more than enough time to work out these issues.

Amended September 2020: stopped in during a recent visit to the Cape. Although there was Social Distancing, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I'm pleased to amend my review to reflect this change.

We went by during a hot night early in the summer, brought the baby in a stroller and were not out of place at all. Some dogs, kids, cornhole etc. At one point a bachelorette party showed up.
I love the beer, and they had a few on tap I had not seen. That night the Mom and Pop Burger food truck was there, which was a major bonus.

 

The guys are great and always willing to chat about what they are doing. Generally have a good cross section of beer available for trying on premises or taking to go. I like it best when the overhead door is open and the picnic table are in use.

The beer is good. The staff is very friendly. I really liked the glass that I was given after making my purchase. I enjoy stopping by whenever I am in town.

 

Visited on May 15 shortly after noon. We were the only ones there so vibe hard to rate. An attractive relatively small retail space with good view of brewing area. Service was very good with good explanations. Good selection of pours and fills(they have growlers, howlers and crowlers) but only 3 beers to go in cans. Next time we will spend more time there to sample and buy a howler(it will fit in our fridge). Service came in rated first because the wife thought the young man behind the counter was cute.

 

 

 

 

 

From Pennsylvania, went there in part of my son's 30th birthday. There were 11 of us. They Would not serve my son because he did not have a second form of ID. Even though he did have a valid PA driver's license they would not serve him. Of course we left. They said it was Massachusetts law, however, no other winery or brewery brought this so called law up and we visited many.
