Tasting Notes:
Torrential is what we want in a double IPA. It's big, dry, hugely aromatic, bursting with tropical and fruity hop flavors, and terrifyingly drinkable. A mix of our Pilsner base malt and some simple sugars gives this beastly Westcoast DIPA an almost unrecognizable amount of malt character while leaving the beer as crispy and dry as a Double IPA gets. The hops we chose to throw in the mix are a simple blend of our favorite hops that all on their own are hugely dominant in character, but blended together they produce a beautiful marriage of orange zest, mango puree, summer melons, grapefruit juice, ripe papaya, bright pineapple, and jackfruit. This is a beer that dates way back; the 10th beer we ever brewed in fact, and its slow evolution has gone from being the Double IPA we most wanted to drink way back in 2015 to showcase the best hops we could get, and now incorporates the same hops but also in the form of Incognito, Spectrum, and Cryo.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden orange amber with a frothy pale tan head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Plenty of citrus backed by tropical and stone fruit, some spicy pine, floral and slightly grassy notes, bready biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
T: Citrus zest and juice, grapefruit, orange, lemon, and lime, tropical and stone fruit, pineapple, over ripe mango, apricot, peach, guava, blueberry, and hints of papaya and melon, spicy pine, floral notes, bready biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness. Just a hint of alcohol pokes out on the back end after a little while coming up to temp.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderately soft carbonation, sticky.
O: Stoked to see an updated version of an OG beer brewed again, and to be able to get my hands on it. Drinks like a refined version of an old school DIPA, so they nailed their goal of bringing a classic into the modern day with new school hop products and techniques. I wouldn't mind a couple more IBUs, but it's hard to complain about a double that drinks this smooth.

Clear, light gold body; dense, fine-bubble, slow-rising carbonation; thick, creamy, white head. Bold and fresh citrus and floral hop aromas; a touch of pine resin. Incredibly balanced taste; light malt base, biscuit-like; medium hop bitterness intensity, balances nicely with the malt profile; clean with just a touch of booziness. Medium body; crisp and silky on the palate.
This is an awesome double India pale ale. The ABV is well-hidden which permits the near-delicate malt base and wild-ass hop mixture to play very nicely together. Easy drinking and very tasty.
Pouring temperature: 36.7 ℉; canning info: unreadable
Source: local purchase (Coaltrain Fine Wine, Craft Beer & Spirits)

I think it was back in 2016 that I bought a 6 pack of this. Also when it appeared at the Bistro's West Coast 16th double/5th triple ipa festival.
Pours the usual mashup of yellow/dark gold with 1/3" white head. This one looks to have a good amount of clarity to it. Aroma mixes up some of the most popular hops, Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic do some heavy lifting. So you get those tropical, pineapple, dank notes in here for sure.
Taste continues the ass kicking. Firm, but not grating bitterness. Plenty of fruit flavors from the hops, its nowhere near one of those just bitterness/grapefruit ipas. The malt body is like every other hoppy Fieldwork beer, light/dry. Citrus and tropical continue throughout. Hides the alcohol very well, carbonated appropriately. Love banging these in the cans while out and about in nature. River, mountains, desert, whatever. Strangely enough, never drank one of these in the rain, despite the name. Also dig the "artwork".

Muddy dark gold color. Moderate head with some significant webs for lace.
Some alcohol with the typical smells of an IPA -- solid semisweet pale malted barley and floral hop.
The malt is berry sweet without being overbearing. The hope presents itself without dominating the flavor. It's lightly bittering, biting and spicy. This is a subtle DIPA and is way too easy to drink too quickly.

The hoppy goodness of a West Coast IPA meets the tropical juiciness of a NE IPA - an absolute pleasure to try this. Fieldwork does it again!
