High coffee aroma. Like drinking breakfast, better as is warns up.

As per the brewery:
OG 1.072 FG 1.022 IBU: 25. "Direct trade" Guatemalan Coffee. No mention of particular barley or hops.
Pours quite dark, with just a few bits of ruby peaking through at the pint glass' narrow bottom. Smells robust and roasty with fresh ground coffee dominating and some lightly rough barley nodes poking through as it warms up a bit.
Tastes excellent: super smooth, medium aggressive, medium bitter, medium sweet. Roasty malt up front, sweet chocolate in the middle, dark chocolate and fresh coffee in the back, and then some dry hops to end it off. Straightforward, excellent balance.
A little one note, maybe, but a beer called simply "Coffee Stout" is perhaps best served by simplicity.
