Notes:
Chewy and creamy with tons of chocolate malt, huge additions of lactose, Oreo cookies, cacao nibs, and just a touch of vanilla beans, Cookies & Cream Achromatic is dessert in a glass. We boil for more than 6 hours to achieve the unbelievably rich, chewy, thick mouthfeel of the base beer, which is made even more decadent by a generous addition of lactose sugar. Finally, we aged the finished beer on Oreo cookies, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans to accentuate all the delicious flavors of cookies and cream.

Pours opaque, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big cola and cream with light chocolate. Heavy bodied, very sweet, slightly roasty, with low carbonation. Sorta Oreoish but I cannot get past the cola taste. Cola and cream do not mesh. A future pass.

650 mL bottle. Gushed like hell. Yikes. Black with no head, but the gushing foam was dark brown. Smells of cola and some chocolate. Tastes of cola, chocolate, lactose, and vanilla. Metallic and roasted malt finish. Medium heavy. Low carbonation. I feared the worst when it gushed, but it's not bad. Also not something I need to drink again.

Nice work on this one. All the flavors come together. Smell Oreo and vanilla. Lactose is noticeable. Nice thick mouth on this one. Big chocolate flavor. And it does have that Oreo taste. Mission accomplished.

Look: Pitch Black with big fluffy khaki head. Has medium carbonation.
Smell: Milk chocolate, Oreos, and vanilla beans.
Taste: Milk Chocolate, Oreos, Vanilla beans, with a bitter bite.
Mouthfeel: Thick and chewy.
Overall: A solid pastry stout from Weldwerks. Sadly, I don’t think lactose is my thing.

650ml bottle, bottled in October 2017, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, one finger mocha head, good retention and minimal lacing. Smell is rich vanilla bean and lactose, like french vanilla ice cream! There is a bit of chocolate chip and cocoa as well, so this is pretty much oreos in milk. Really nice. Balanced and creamy on the palate, lots of creamy vanilla and lactose, tempered by just a bit of cocoa bitterness as well as milk chocolate. Sweet, but not diabetic sweet. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, creamy with a lot of nice silky smoothness to it. Perfect dessert beer. This was a really nice treat for me- who wouldn't love french vanilla ice cream with some chocolate chips thrown in there?

i think its really neat they use actual oreo cookies in this, not that you can really taste them specifically amidst everything else thats going on with this beer, but its cool nevertheless. this is a dessert beer of the highest order, chewy and sweet to the point where even a small pour feels like a lot, but that said, its pretty tasty too, just not my favorite variant of achromatic to date. its got a nice head on it from the tap at the brewery, and looks good in the tulip they serve it in, not quite as dense as i thought it would be, but saturated in the nose and taste with vanilla and lactose and chocolate, i get some cookie to this, sweet vanilla and creaminess for sure, but also a needed bitterness both from roasted malts and from the cocoa nibs, which, thankfully, are more earthy than sweet in this. tons of body, sticky even, but the bitterness really is awesome because it helps this finish, palate coating and diabetic as it is, it doesnt linger as long as it could. you have to want this sort of thing, sugar bomb stout, but i will say that the quality is high and its too good to be a gimmick, its not cheap and its really not all that forced, its just enormous and desserty. they are rightly getting high praise for this series, but this is not my favorite beer in it so far... a bit much...

On tap at the brewery on Greeley. Typical appearance. Odd smell. Taste was weird, like some coffee but then this weird flavor I did not like that I could only guess was the oreos.
