Collaboration with Casey Brewing & Blending,
For our first (but certainly not last) collaboration with the crew at Casey Brewing & Blending, we knew we wanted to do something special. So we tracked down a very limited amount of Nelson Sauvin hops (one of our favorite varietals) and paired it with our selected lot of Citra at a total hop rate of nearly 9 lb/bbl. For the base, we brewed a New England-style Double IPA with just enough malt character and creaminess to balance the massive hop load. The result is one of the best beers we have produced, which is fitting since we brewed it with one of the best breweries in the country. Cheers to brewery friends and more collabs to come!

A: Pours a milky murky bright golden peach in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate apricot + bright orange + burnt orange + dark golden yellow + bright mango yellow + honey colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of slightly mottled medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/grapefruit + citrus/tangerine + tropical/mango + tropical/papaya + tropical/pineapple + tropical/passionfruit hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/grapefruit + citrus/tangerine + tropical/mango + tropical/papaya + tropical/pineapple + tropical/passionfruit hops which impart a minimal amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving moderate lingering tropical + citrus hop flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate to heavy amounts of creamy soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasant creamy soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with tons of juicy citrus + tropical hop flavors and aromas which linger for a long time.

Reminds me of DDH Juicy Bits
A-Murk with excellent dense head and persisted a long time given the high ABV
S-Apricot, peach
T-Peach, Grapefruit, Pine. What a wonderful lineup. Avg sweet, above average bitter
M-Thhhickkk, chewy
O-Out-Fu*king-Standing DDH Hazy here.

Hazy, fruit juice look with darker amber color. Moderate head which settles to rim bubbles. Good initial ring of lace. Webby spots thereafter.
Apricot sweetness to the nose with a floral hop background. Well-blended.
High carbonation with a moderate body, this beer comes across as spritzy. This cuts into the fruity (apricot comes mind, again) flavor. The hop is straight up bitterness offering a bite that doesn’t quite go into the realm of extreme. Longer aftertaste.

TAKE 2
Canned On: 10/12/23
ABV: 8.7%
Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice cloudy pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, peach, mango, apricot, nectarine, grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, melon, guava), very nice diesel like. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, peach, mango, apricot, nectarine, grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, melon, guava), very nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer. Orange Julius! Addictive! Milkshake!

Citra kind of drowns out Nelson in this beer, but it is an above average NEDIPA. Deep and flavorful with plenty of expected Citra flavors...including a couple of my favorite hints onion and garlic. Nelson Sauvin comes in to offer some light kiwi and white grape. Bold and resinous with some hop burn, this shouldn't be missed by any IPA fan
