Currently rated #86 in the Top Lager - Kellerbier / Zwickelbier category.

"Unfiltered pilsner-style lager brewed with flaked corn and Saaz hops." 4.8% ABV.

CAN: 16 fl oz pull-tab. $2.50 USD at the brewery (as part of a variety 4 pack to go).

Served cold into a rastal Master Craft glass.

TASTE: Corn. Saaz hop spiciness. 2-row. I get some graininess but no overt pilsner malt.

Lacks any kellerbier-like unbunged oxidation. Not as raw or vitamin-y as I'd expect a kellerbier to taste.

Not terribly balanced. I don't really dig its flavour profile, but I can't say it doesn't dully tick the boxes necessary to qualify as an "unfiltered pilsner."

Clear, pale yellow, quickly dissipating head
Light corn flakes, faint spicy Sazz notes,
Sweet corn flakes, but not frosted, mild spice
Medium-light carbonation, thin

This drinks like a very good macro. Not sure if I'd want to drink much of this though, outside of a hot summer day.

Clear, bright golden body; very active carbonation; thin, soapy white head. Herbal and grassy hop aroma; faint note of cereal grain. The taste is similar to the aroma; a bit more grain flavor, slightly toasted; bright herbal quality; moderate hop presence. Light body; crisp and somewhat smooth; a token bit of grain-like warmth.

This is a decent kellerbier, satisfying yet unassuming.

Poured into a snifter.
Look: moderately hazy golden-straw color with a modest white head.
Aroma: floral hops, some bread, faint corn.
Taste: very clean with white cracker and bread, and floral hoppy notes. Clean bitterness and a crisp finish.
Feel: light-to medium bodied and medium carbed.
Overall: a nice Kellerbier. Easy to drink and tasty.

a really well made beer in a style that i am increasingly finding myself seeking out. the unfiltered yet still crisp lager has a place in craft for sure, and its nice to see some breweries starting to embrace that fact. this one features a lot of corn in the mash, which gives the beer some nice mellow sweetness and a cool malt complexity without making it heavy in the traditional sense. not as cloudy as some on the pour, still mostly see through and super bubbly and lively. the is a cornflake sort of cereal element in the nose, and then a classic european pils type malt side as well, crackery and dry. not much hops in the nose, and only a balancing bitterness to finish, its a little slower fade here, but still dry and refreshing even without a more pronounced hop profile. the malts are nice in here, maybe more flavorful and perhaps more sturdy than i need in a beer i want to drink ten of, but i appreciate the freshness and the layers, a lot happening on the grain side of this without it ever being sugary or hard to drink, a real success. a little of the corn side comes back after the swallow, but its all real pleasant, sort of earthy, late summery, boat beer for august. good stuff from these guys, this back to basics series makes a lot of sense, they have been way out there in pastry stout land for awhile, so i think its rad they are just going to make some beers we can crush...
