Notes: To create the latest entry in our #pastrysour series, we started by adding lactose sugar to our kettle-soured Berliner base, then fermented it with over 500 lbs of peach puree. After fermentation, we aged the finished beer with graham cracker and vanilla to give it the signature pie character. The sweetness of the peach and lactose are perfectly balanced by the tartness of the base beer, resulting in a tart, sweet, complex and refreshing beer reminiscent of its namesake.

Thanks Steve.
I actually thought this was a true Berliner weisse and ended up pouring into a stange, however, it is not one, just a really well brewed sour ale reminiscent to peach pie. A thorough appearance of a finger sustained of foamy head glistening and sliding off to barely leave any lace. Aromas, obviously capture the peach pie essence but to me leaves out mostly the cinnamon portion. Flavors mesh the sweet to the tart pulling in an eloquent sour peach skin-like character then having a skilled aftertaste of your basic peach pie. Mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Sour and tart characters are pulled back enough to allow some crushability. Nice carbonation. Some effective graham cracker-like smoothness right before it finishes with some peachy sweet flesh and skin. Overall, worthy as a superb pastry sour ale but no sour-ed wheat was found anywhere in this beer. I'd have again for me but true Berliner fans beware.

hazy light yellow color. smells of lactose and peach, mildly sour. I can;t taste the vanilla, peaches are there, mild tartness, with a hint of the spices. It's interesting but glad I only got one can.

L: Pours a straw yellow color with hints of orange that resemble the color of an apricot. Zero clarity with 3+ fingers of head from a simple pour. Minimal amounts of lacing but the head retained nicely.
S: Up front aromas of vanilla, lactose, and spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. The peach is there, but the afore mentioned adjuncts really jump out. Zero graham cracker presence.
T: For what it is, it is delicious. The peach is there, the vanilla is there, and the lactose isn't as overbearing as the smell would lend. The cinnamon and nutmeg resonates at the finish with after tastes of vanilla and peaches n' creme. I am not getting much graham cracker, if any at all, but I am thoroughly enjoying it.
F: Light in body, medium in weight. Low to moderate carbonation with a nice feel.
O: For what it is, Weldwerks knocked it out of the park. My wife and mother-in-law are loving it, mostly because it does not taste remotely close to a beer. It's a novelty offering, and dessert in a glass. I would revisit, purchase again, and am glad to try. Cheers!
