16oz can. 11/29/18 can date. Appearance: Hazy, cloudy light golden with a low lying white head and minimal lacing.
Aroma: Wow, it’s amazingly how reminiscent of a pina colada this is, with distinct pineapple and coconut. Vanilla fairly strong too. Pineapple is the dominant factor.
Taste: Rich orange juice like malt sweetness hits upfront, turning to a toasted coconut and pineapple evolving on the back end building to a strong bitterness that’s softened by the rich maltiness.
Mouthfeel: Heavy bodied, thick and creamy, with a moderate carbonation.
Finish: Dry and sticky hop resin there next to a light lingering toasted coconut. Pineapple shows up retronasally.
Overall: What a unique beer that truly delivers on the pina colada promise of the name. From the aroma all the way they the finish, you’ve hit with a burst of coconut and pineapple. Vanilla adds some nice complexity on the aroma. It’s amazing that this beer is 8% ABV, because you can’t taste any alcohol over the rich, fruit forward maltiness

Interesting. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Nose is where this beer shines. Full of sweet pineapple and toasted coconut as advertised. Taste is bit more subdued than the nose but there is still a generous presence of toasted coconut, coconut water like, and sweet pineapple. Lacking on the lacto to boost this thing up into full on Milkshake mode but it is Milkshake-esque. The only negative critique is that after a certain amount of time the pineapple/ coconut combo can come off a bit chemical. Thinner than expected for a Milkshake but overall a pleasant beer.

Poured hazy yellow with a creamy head out of the can
Strong pineapple aroma
Tastes, well, like a pina colada! Heavy front of coconut and lactose, with a hint of pineapple.
Syrupy mouthfeel, expected for a Milkshake DIPA

I wasn't originally planning on purchasing cans of this when it released, but tried it at the brewery for kicks. Overall takeaway: Weldwerks is working some serious magic to pull off a pineapple cocounut DIPA this good. Great tropical getaway from the standard single or double NEIPA.
