Notes: Without a doubt, one of our favorite people in the whole wide world is Mike Pallen, the head-stud over at Mikerphone Brewing in Chicago. We think he makes some of the best IPAs in the game, so when he suggested we make one with all the sexy hops, it was a no-brainer. This Hazy DIPA uses some of current and all-time faves - Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Lotus - to make a brew that is absolutely bursting with pineapple, lemon and papaya. The name is a nod both to the automotive history of our building in Greeley as well as Mike's well-known love of all things music.

Partially hazy yellow body with two fingers of white foam. This is one of those that if you are in the mood for a really juicy fruit forward neipa it hits the spot. Because the glaring weakness is the hop bitterness is extremely light. But on hot July day like when I had it, the juicy peach, clementine, lime, lemon, papaya, mango, and pineapple are so refreshing. Goes down crazy easy for 8.6% abv. Taste was deeper than the smell, but both very fruity.

I bought this because I saw it was brewed in collaboration with Mikerphone. Not disappointed at all, a very good beer. Pours a very hazy pale orange with slight head and lacing. No floaties or sediment. Smell is a funky dank citrus – mild pineapple and orange with a little lemon and peach tossed in. Taste is a slightly tart but strong citrus flavor. Orange and peach are more prevalent with a little pineapple and lemon in the background. Light body, slightly mouth watering finish, alcohol presence is disguised well. All in all, a very easy and pleasant experience, as it is flavorful but not over the top or too much.

Appearance: a beautiful yellow (fresh pollen colored) and totally opaque. The head forms a ¼-finger of white with good retention. Very attractive.

Aroma: super fresh! Fresh growth spruce and peach. So good.

Flavor: juicy; super flavorful hops (Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Lotus). The peach from the nose carries through to the flavor. I kept thinking of eating a fresh, fuzzy peach when drinking this beer. Very good.

Mouthfeel: light(er)-medium. Very drinkable; “light” relative to the 8.6% abv.

Overall: Auto Tune ranks among the top of Weldwerks’ IPAs/2X IPAs. This beer was excellent. The aroma and flavor were superb.
