Head on tap at the craft bar. Beer came out golden with little or no head, aroma was tropical but somewhat muted. Flavor was balanced mall with hops and a little bit of heat, aftertaste and finish was very smooth.

Pours a deep Amber with a nice hop profile that isn't too bitter. It's a flavorful beer that I suspect even folks that don't love hops might enjoy. One of the better offerings from this brewery that provides great beer!

From a can at the 2018 Decatur Beer Fest.
Pours with a clear amber body topped with a very good white head. Limited clarity.
Mild, mainly hoppy aroma.
The flavor is mildly bitter and has a fruity blend of hops.
Medium body with medium carbonation.

12oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of pineapple, grapefruit and toasted caramel. Bold tropical fruit flavors with a sharp, bitter bite. Nice caramel and toffee backbone.

Mini review:

Canned on 08/08/18, enjoyed on 10/01/18.

Cloudy amber in color, with a decent creamy head.

Smells like pine and candied mangos.

Taste follows the nose down the line. It also has a syrup like quality to it, but the texture is velvet smoove.

It’s good, not as good as the pre 2016 or so 1.0 version, but better than many of the more recent batches I’ve had. The IBUs are listed at 100, but it really doesn’t taste that bitter.

Powerful taste......ABV of 8% noticeable at first taste. Nose is full bodied, with strong hops. Hint of raspberry and caramel taste. Little or no after taste. Very drinkable. I usually drink Dale's Ale but, could develop a taste for Divide & Conch'r. Will buy again. A righteous IPA.

Pours a hazy amber, small head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Malt and hops balanced like a gymnast. Travel to the Florida panhandle to see family. Tried this at a local craft bar there over thanksgiving. Glad I brought two six packs home. This beer sets the high bar for NW Florida IPAs. Great job!

Pours a murky amber with one finger of off-white head. Spray of lace sticks partway down the glass. Smell: syrup, orange, resin, grapefruit, dried peach, biscuit. Taste: honeyed biscuit buried under a little caramel and a lot of pine and sugared grapefruit with notes of dried orange and pineapple juice. Medium-plus bodied, chill but creamy carbonation. Finish is citric bitterness with mild stickiness. Canned 11/18-ish/17 (printer had bad aim). Pretty tasty!

Poured from can into glass, nice 1 finger off white head, good retention and lacing. Hazy amberish golden in the glass, some visible yeast particles. Heavy caramel and pine/pineapple/citrus on the nose. Taste follows the nose, getting sweet caramel malt on the front end, that flows into pine/pineapple and a citrus twang. Finish is mild bitterness. Slight alcohol on the finish

Very Tasty!! This is a popular Double IPA, and I understand why. I usually prefer an unfiltered double with stronger hops, but you will not be disappointed here.

Tasted from a 12 oz can.

L - Light golden color with a green tinge; somewhat hazy. Thick, creamy, off-white head is solid and very persistent,

S - Great, classic double IPA aroma with pine and citrus hops (with a hint of tropical fruit in the end) laid over top of warm, sweet bready malt. Very clean and in balance.

T - Citrus and tropical fruit flavors and bitterness up front. Mid-palate the sweet, bready malt surges in, then fades again to a fairly dry, hop-infused finish.

F - Thick body. Low to moderate carbonation that doesn't lighten the body by much. Strong but not brutal hop bitterness. Some alcohol burn; appropriate for the 8% ABV.

O - This is a tasty and aromatic DIPA with a good balance between hops and malt. I think it could be improved by a lighter body a nd more carbonation, but these are nit-picks. This is already a good beer.

The beer pours a medium amber color with tons of fluffy, soapy white head that leaves a lot of sticky lacing. The smell is pine resin, lots of malt, and a little tropical. The taste follows the nose with a good balance of tropical hops, pine resin, and malt. The mouthfeel is medium to high carbonation and smooth. Overall a decent DIPA although a little malt forward for me at a couple months old. I'd be interested to try this fresh to compare.

Gold in color with a faint haziness within. There's an inch of creamy off white to beige resting on top. Heavy lacing. The aroma is of tropical hops with notes of mango, overripe pineapple, and onions. I'm tasting what starts off as grassy hops and finishes as oniony hops. The mouth is dry and lightly mineral.

12 oz can. Medium golden color, slight haze, thick white head slowly fades to a lasting thin layer. Aroma of sweet bread and tropical fruit. Taste is on the sweet side with lightly toasted bread flavor, balance fairly well by some grapefruit peel and big floral hop presence. Bitter semi dry finish. Alcohol peeks through a bit. Medium feel. Solid DIPA.

With its practice in the south east, there's a classic northwest taste that pulls from the attitude of IPA that gives Idyl Hounds imperial IPA its unique taste, texture and resolve.

Bright gold and soft amber, the beer's brilliant clarity comes with surprise while a creamy white and lacy foam builds from below. Earthy, citrusy and sappy, the scent is redolent with grass, grapefruit and pine. Its flavor is sweet with caramel, honey and biscuit ahead of an initial sweetness of much the same greets palate with toasted nuttiness, bread crust and granola.

The middle palate is rich with caramel, sugar, and spice in a slight french-toast kind of way. Even with the malt standing tall, the hops come charging in with white grapefruit, orange peel, lime, herb and grass. Growing bitterness plays off of the beer's rustic hop flavors of stem, grass, leaf and pine. Hints of tobacco, apricot and mango carry a dried and earthen tone.

Spicy, malty-dry and fullish, the ale's texture is rich but drying. Its creamy weight is moderate and with a drinkable tone that makes the beer remarkably reckless and inviting. A finish of pepper, gin and vodka is softened by lasting caramels and a deep accompaniment from hop bitterness and citrus.

Deep and hazy pour and a danky aroma. It is a hoppy beer, but not enough to kick your palate with bitterness that many hoppy beers seem to hit you with. I like this beer and would recommend it for anyone headed to the beach in Florida, looking for a good easy drinking beer.

I've heard that Simcoe can sometimes give a "catpiss" smell to beers, but have never experienced it until I tried this brew. Gross smell, enjoyable taste.
