At Cantillon Brewery from bottle.

Raspberry red, very light hazy in appearance with a sizable foam head upon pour, which dissipates quickly. Smell is of raspberry, strawberry, cherry and other red fruits with a bit of oak. Taste follows the nose, but even through it's sour and fruity, it is not overly sweet (which is what a Cantillon employee told us is one of their goals). Light carbonation and easy to drink. I would definitely get this again and enjoy on a nice summer day.

Pours a translucent plum. It almost looks like cherry NyQuil. Light pink head that dissipates quickly. Not as much as aroma as the 3F Oude Kriek. Tastes like some red pepper and pickled red onion. Some super sharp parmesan and moderate acidity. A little nail polish too. Not my favorite kriek by any measure.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle bottled on 18th June 2015 (just over a year old) and poured into a Cantillon ballon glass.

Appearance: It poured a slightly hazy dark ruby red colour with a two finger dark pinkish-white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Sweet and tart cherry with touches of strawberry. Lots of oak woodiness and only a hint of barnyard funk.
Taste: Sour, tart, cherry, lemon, oak and just a touch of funk.
Mouthfeel: Dry, light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Wonderful, so refreshing and well balanced. I could drink this all day.

L: A beautiful soft ruby color with a pink hue head that dissipates quickly, small bubbles, no lacing
S: A sour, spritzy, freshly squeezed cherries, a touch of orange, farmhouse yeast, hay funky smell
T: A complex and robust tart taste, a funky blend of fruit that meets a farmhouse ale, I get hints of a slightly toasted or smoked flavor of cherry rather than sour fresh cherries, takes you back to a different time of brewing
F: Medium to high carbonation that flows and swirls around your mouth nicely,
O: An interesting beer that is not for everyone, Very glad to say I tried it but not sure its quite my style, I can appreciate it but finding a reverence and awe for it might take some time. Nevertheless a solid beer that is definitely worth a try

The head crests near two fingers of pink white foam, for as swiftly as it goes up, it goes down, although it does leave a respectable surface dusting, the lacing is like a breaking wave, a solid sheet crushed into disintegration. The liquid is rose petal to watermelon pink in color, there is a vast swirl of superfine bubbles inside, holds light warmly. There’s a broad flatness to the nose, like an open handed smack, sour lemons and cherries, taut underlying minerality, the yeastiness is tight and focused, great overall economy of effort. Medium-bodied, pleasingly deep initial foaminess helps prime the mouth for both the sourness and the sweetness of the cherry fruit. Which itself is the usual center of attention without ever seeming so. Vinous bite, yeast, mineral water, lemon, cedar, tea leaf, nothing that distinct leaps out at you in support of the cherries yet at the same time it does not feel like a one trick pony. Pushes hard to accelerate across the finish line. Bottled February 26, 2016.
