Bottle poured into a cantillon taster on 4/20/2013. I have been waiting a long time for this day to come. One of my biggest white whales has been beached.. Appearance. Bottle poured a hazy orange color with a thin line of head. good carbonation... its awake! Nose- lemons and peach, with a moldy funky cheese, notes of soccer cleats but in a good way(dont know how that is possible but it is) grass funk & hay. One of the best smelling beers i have ever had Taste- citrus notes mixed with barnyard funk. grapefruit and cheese. Lactic acid combined with a suttle earthiness probably attributed from the age of this fine geuze. Overall- this totally lived up to the hype. One of the best beers, and beer experiences shared with some great guys!

I've had the Drie Fonteinen version of this style before a few times and really love how that's done, so I have high hopes for Loerik from Cantillon. The nose on this is amazing. I love the funk I'm getting. It's a pretty beer with zero carbonation remaining after the pour (as expected.) On the pallet I don't have as much funk as on the nose, so that's a bit of a disappointment. The level of complexity though is still high. I'd say it has a medium level of tartness. I'd love for more funk but I'm really enjoying the beer nevertheless. Another great Cantillon for me.

Bottle, at Plan B, Copenhagen. Cloudy golden colour. Funky and sour aroma and flavour, feels quite strong. Some hops too (more than in other gueuzes, anyway).

This one pours a golden yellow color, with not much head or lacing - doesn't seem super carbonated, which makes sense given what this beer is.
This smells like stone fruit, tropical fruit, dusty musty funk, white wine, and oak.
I imagine this will age very well. It feels "young" so to speak, but it's still quite delicious. There's a nice jamminess, like apricot jam, with some oak and wine, prickly and herbal funk, lemoncello, and vague spice.
This is light bodied, lightly carbonated, and pretty drinkable, with not a ton of sourness to it.
I'd love to revisit this one 5-10 years down the road, I bet it gets even better with lots of years on it.

750 mL bottle. No head, of course. Clear golden. Smells of cheese, oak, dried grass, a little citrus. Tastes of oak, cheesy funk, citrus, lots of dried grass. A little bit of sweetness. Just a little bit of carbonation. Outstanding.

27 Dec 2018 bottle.
White head. A bit of carb showing. Golden orange color.
If this was labeled as a regular Gueuze, I’d believe it. Maybe it’s too young, but I’m just not seeing what’s the big deal (and cantillon is my favorite). Stonefruit, melon, citrus, oak, minerals. Tastes like a Gueuze to me. Not sure how to rate this.

Lots of nice oak and must on the nose and the palate. Smooth, semi-still, and damp. Beautiful mouthfeel, Wonderful taste. Soft, earthy, and mild citrus. Can't say I've every enjoyed a Gueuze more! Would love to experience again if any exist.

Had this at our annual tasting at Moeder Lambic's cellar. I had never really thought I could try this one day, some I'm thankful for the chance given. I was in charge of opening the bottle and pouring it, and I felt quite nervous when the cork disintgrated at the contact of the cork screw. I finally managed to open it without cork pieces coming inside the bottle. Pfiou!
A: Well looking for its age, cloudy, orange with a small white head (good point: this is carbonated!)
S: Smell is dust and old basement at first, with juicy citruses, lemon and oranges. After opening a little while, I got more mineral and floral flavors, with also some fresh mint. No vinegar on the nose, which can happen with a beer this old. Reminiscent scent of mushroom and cobweb linger.
T: Taste is quite sour (citric acid, with moderate lactiness) and funky with hay, barnyard, lemon and mineral flavors. Age shows but it has held well. It is quite juicy and also highlights some of the quality of the old 3F gueuzes that I love.
M: Although it apparently took time, carbonation has reached a good level. Body is light to medium. Perfectly sessionable as it is.
O: Very good gueuze. Not exactly at the same level as the best examples from 3F, but really worth a try. Thanks Michaelis for having brought this to our Day to Sink all Sea Shepherds!
