Cuvee St. Gilloise
750mL bottle into a Teku
Vintage 2013

Thanks to yumbeer for sending this one over in a trade!

A: Murky, essentially opaque, golden orange with a huge 3+ fingers width of fluffy white head that dissipates slowly leaving a thick film throughout the duration of the drink. Tons of lacing. 4.5

S: Funkier than most Cantillons and not as sour. Lots of oaky characters and subtle tartness, lactic acidity, floral notes, plastic-like funk, citrus. 4.25

T: Stronger sour notes than on the nose, tons of oak, that plastic-like funk characters, sweet-ish citrus on the finish, biting lactic acidity. 4.25

M/D: Medium body, carbonation heavy which is appropriate, very dry on the finish, drinkability is very good. 4.5

O: Far from my favorite Cantillon, but an enjoyable drink as always. 4.25

75cl at MADE in PONG DANG (Seoul, Korea)

Wonderful aroma of melon, funky cheese, grass, barnyard hay, some lemon and even a bit of white wine.

Very tart and borderline citrus on the tongue; the hop is slightly muted but its presence lets itself known near the back end. Slight ester, grass, pepper accompanies the delightfully effervescent Cantillon-esque mouthfeel as well; unlike its blended cousin which does sometimes lean toward the sticky side, this one is crisp and refreshing through and through.

Was lucky to have the opportunity to try several Cantillion bottles at a share recently on Super Bowl sunday! This one wasnt as good as the Vigneronne but was still excellent!

Drops the party hearty orange on ya, but with 1/3" white head, so damn impressive. Super lemon tart funk and even some minor rubber burning aroma. Massive sour notes, 8 on a 1-10 scale.

Drops all kinds of brett and light skinned citrus fruits. Still light on its feet despite packing an intense amount of sour, fruit and oak. Mild grassy, earthy mouthfeel.

Gonna have to drink this and the classic gueuze back to back someday. Phenomenal stuff.
