Poured cloudy dark amber, with orange highlights, and no head or lace, in a snifter gals.

While at first, the salty arm-pit aroma is off-putting, after a few sips earthy tobacco aromas interplay for an appealing funkiness. The initial aroma was a bit shocking to say the least.

Opens with an acidic brine character, filled with umami and funkiness. Once one acclimates, sweetness dominates without being cloying, similar to tart apple. Overall, the fruitiness is a surprise, given the aromas. Warmth brings out a leathery flavor.

Carbonation is explosive on the tongue, and elevated by the incredibly dry sharp texture. Some alcohol is perceptible.

This is an odd beer experience, well worth the effort of consuming it, but stick to one 8oz pour. I suspect this would pair well with a cigar, and certainly well with a pungent creamy cheese.

750ml bottle, May, 2015 bottle, poured into a vintage Cantillon tumbler. Enjoyed on 1.16.16, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a bright golden color, copper hues, light haze with many bubbles rising to the top of the glass where a finger of white head sits, moderate retention and spotted lace. The aroma is pleasant, earthy hops, piney but with some nice floral character, big funky horseblanket, grapefruit peel, tart wheat, moderate acidity. The hops definitely shine, nice addition of complexities without including any bitterness. The flavors are great, a "hoppy gueuze" as advertised. Floral, grassy and lightly resinous hops leap out of the glass, strong must, oak and funkiness bring out some citrus peel, white grape must and lemongrass. The mouthfeel is lively, coating, crisp, medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish.

Verdict: A really nice lambic from Cantillon, hardly a surprise. The hoppy characteristics are very nice and are a very welcomed addition to the lambic base. It's a bit of a different flavor profile, slightly less funk, less acidity with a flavors more akin to an american pale ale though hardly a spot of bitterness.

Had on tap at corporate brew and draft in Baton Rouge

Poured a a semi-hazed straw yellow color with a slight bubbly white head
Oh man, this smelled AMazing! Brilliant mix of melon fruits with grassy, floral hop presence. Some hints of pepper/spiciness, white wine and a bit of lemony citrus.
Taste was nice and tart, but not overly acidic. Earthy hops give way back to the tartness. Get some woodiness as well.
Really dry and crisp mouthfeel.
This is another world-class offering from Cantillon.
