Bottle shared at the brewery.

Pours a deep red, with little foam. Looks like red wine.

Smell is very much red wine, with some tannine and acidity.

Taste is like sour red wine with some sweet grapes added. Very dry finish, with a bit of tannic acid.

Mouthfeel is nice and smooth, well carbonated.

Overall, this is kind of like the missing link between red wine and beer. Very tasty!

750ml bottle shared among four people at the Cantillon tasting room after the tour.

Looks very still, pours with a small and very fine head; the beer is a purplish red color. Smell is very nice -- grapey and tart.

Taste is somewhat mild. Very grapey, not super tart.

Mouthfeel is Cantillon's wonderfully smooth and soft signature. Overall, a very good beer.

Bottle at the brewery. Clear dark pink color with some off-white big bubbles. Aroma has really nice floral funk with ripe fruits on top. Taste is slightly acidic with red grape juice flavor, more sour in the middle, really dry and fruity. Almost flat, light to medium body.

750ml bottle at Cantillon 18€. No idea what vintage this was as they uncorked it for me and there was no label on the back. Dark red, almost purple, looks like St. Lamvinus. Grape aroma, mild lambic scents. Flavor was mild grapes, subtle tartness on the finish. Delicious but not as good as the Carignan I had at the brewery. I have had several bottles of St. Lamvinus in my time but its been so long that I can't say how this compares. Still, a delicious lambic on a hot day.

2016/17 Cork. Bottled 2016. Consumed 3/2017

Fairly still but a very small pink head. Ruby color. Vibrant.

Very wine like. Red grapes all over. Tannins and oak. Fruity but a bit of funk shows.I like that it is still as the red grapes show a lot and it really reminds me of red wine. Ends a bit dry with some more tannins and brett.

A really nice take on St. Lam. This is wonderful right now and will age nicely.

I thought the regular Saint Lamvinus I had on my April 2017 visit was better than this Grand Cru.
