Bottle at the brewery, served in basket ad small tasting glass. Appearence is lightly hazed dull gold with a small white collar.

Smell is funky and musty, lots of barnyard, a hint of rhubarb. Big blue cheese and baby diaper.

Taste is also a funk bomb, as much as any Cantillon, which I'm loving. The rhubarb may have amplified the pucker factor here, and makes it's taste most prevalent in the aftertaste, and subtlety at that.

Mouthfeel is dry, oily, light, but with a little glycerine. Super tannic.

Drinakability is high if you like funk bombs. This is probably my favorite Cantiion yet.

2017 vintage, shared bottle at the brewery.

Pours an unclear yellow, with very little foam.

Smell is very citrusy upfront, with hints of elderflower and rhubarb.

Taste is nicely acidic, not overly sour. Lots of citrus and rhubarb, with some elderflower chasing. Finish is dry and mildly mineral.

Mouthfeel is medium, a bit sticky. Well carbonated.

Overall, another great Cantillon beer. The distinct rhubarb could probaby rub some the wrong way though.

On tap at Thin Man Brewery for Zwanze Day.

This one pours a sparkling yellow-ish color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells super earthy, and a little vegetal, with tons of barnyard, rhubarb stalks, and lemon.

Rhubarb works very well with lambic, but this has an odd vegetal character to it. It's less pronounced in the taste than the aroma luckily. The rhubarb seems to enhance the intense funk of the base lambic, as it's super lemon, grassy, and horse-blankety (that's a word, yeah?). The rhubarb supplied some typical rhubarb flavors, but it also seemed to provide the flavors of the leaves and stalks of the plant.

This is light bodied and delicately carbonated. It's a slow sipper due to the intense flavors.

This is definitely a fun beer, but the rhubarb did some weird/interesting things to the base lambic.

Slightly hazy pastel yellow-gold with a soft, creamy white head that persists throughout as a thick clingy collar.

Really funky but light stinky cheese aromas are followed by overripe peach, and a little sawdust or crushed almond.

I do not get a lot of rhubarb in taste, more like a lemon-raspberry tart, which I guess in itself is pretty close to straight rhubarb, but we have rhubarb that grows all around the house so it's not a flavor I'm unfamiliar with when ultra fresh. I also get some barnyard funk, and as it warms, some fresh rhubarb faintly emerges. Luckily I had some rhubarb jam nearby to tease out the rhubarb flavor, but it is not like a mouth puckering crunch of that green-pinkish stalk, it's just a slight twinge running along the background.

Medium body with a soft, frothy feel.
