Enjoyed upstairs at Cantillon, November 2018.

Also, I shared the 2017 batch yesterday at the Geist winter lambic tasting.

A phenomenal beer. Herbal notes beautifully integrated into the lambic.

Batch 2 unlabeled bottle from JVR consumed 4/18

White head. Yellow hued gold. A bit more tame than mamouche. Very similar, however. Some herbal/light bitterness showing. Garden green bell pepper and a hint of dill. A touch of crushed black pepper. Basically dialed down mamouche, with a touch more bitterness and ends dry in the finish. 4.4

June 29, 2017 consumed 11/18. Yellow label.

This beer tastes like mamouche light. Earthy, herbal, perfume notes. Has a light garden vegetable flavor. Lemon citrus. Oaky. Touch of funk. Very enjoyable.

Pours a murky bright yellow color, with just some lacing on top.

Smells quite herbal, flowery, evoking the impression of old hops, wild flowers and a ton of musty funk, together with some more subtle blue cheese.

Drinks light and refreshing, with a lively effervescence during the finish, soaking up the sourness quite effectivly.

Tastes aqueous, herbal with an early bitterness, blue cheese, almost no leather and a strong mineralic quality. Finishes more focussed on the sourness with no herbs prevailing but more cheese and a lofty aqueous feel to it.

Develops nicely on the palate, slowly and thoughtfull, with the herbs adding a little bit of character to the otherwise very modest lambic.

Earythy and flowery taste. It reminds me to mamouche but it has a more vinegear style like to it. Maybe some cellaring will smoothen those vingear touches but its a great bottle!
