Poured a bright hazy orange. At the nose was a light lambic funkiness and the apricots were very subtle. Smells slightly tart with a with something mildly unsanitary - supposedly a dirty sock. The flavors were similer, it was not strong and upfront but very mild and very balance. The apricots are hard to notice. It's mildly sour and sweet with a characteristic funk. Very easily drinkable that doesn't leave your teeth eroded. Definitely a beer a single person can handle. The mouthfeel is light bodied with mild acidity. Overall I expected flavors to be heavy and apricots upfront. It was not the case, instead it was very balance and easily drinkable.

A 2015 version, poured from a tap into a pint glass. Moderately hazy, yellow-amber color with a frothy white head. Aromas, of ripe apricot, white bread, hay, and barnyard funk. The taste followed closely - the fruit was there but restrained. The funk was also restrained and melded well with the sweet flavors. Not much tartness. A dry but layered feel. So happy to enjoy this.

Chased this beer for a long time and finally caught it thanks to a good friend sharing his 2015 vintage with me. It was everything I hoped it would be. Tart and fruity without being obnoxiously acidic with full flavor. Very balanced beer and was definitely worth the chase. Now to acquire my own to let it sit for many years and see how it does.

On tap at les Fleurs du Malt in Lyon, France.
It seems like I'm biting in a fresh slighty acidic unripe apricot. All along the main attributes might be its fruitness and the fact that it's damn well refreshing. Tart but not acidic the beer delivers a brett apricot and mango smell. The taste is never sour but still very fruity and slighty herbal. The lambic ain't too funky here.
The highlights of this very sought after beer are its simplicity and its balanced. A beer to love. I'm dying waiting to try the bottle I have in the basement. Hoping for a bigger complexity along the balance.
Few weeks later from the bottle. Same unripe apricot presence but as it warms up, more and more like an apricot pie. Perfect balance for a lambiec based beer.
