Decanted. Light golden / orange body with a off-white head of random bubbles. Aromas of honey, white wine, mead, funk, must. Robust and intense. Unique and superb. Sweet, white wine, vinous, lingering honey, dandelion. Amazing.

750 ml bottle at Akkurat, 2005 cork.

A- Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a slight gush, produces a thin white head, nice carbonation.

S- Has an absolutely wonderful sweetness to it, with elements of wheat and honey, stone fruit, raisins, dessert wine and cognac. Also lots of funk and hay, with a nice amount of tartness. Overall it just smells ridiculously good.

T- Tastes just as good as it smells. Nice smooth acidity, which isn't extreme for its age but is nice and moderate. The grape and cognac really shines again here, lots of dessert wine and smooth cognac flavors, along with raisin and stone fruit. The alcohol probably contributes to the nice sweet elements of the flavor, but it doesn't taste boozy or hot, which for a 10% lambic is pretty impressive.

M- Medium-bodied, nice smooth carbonation, a bit of warmth from the alcohol without any harshness on the palate.

O- I was blown away by this. Easily one of the best beers I've ever had from Cantillon, or ever, just a stupid good beer.

The "F**k Yo Passport" Tasting. 750ml bottle into Cantillon taster.

Pours golden yellow, fizzy white head, thin ring. Nose is hay, funk, oak, and a nice vinous character. Flavor is lots of oak and vinous grape notes, not insanely sour, just right. Time has smoothed this one out completely. Light body, light carbonation, dry finish.

An excellent beer and worthy of the hype, IMO. I was sad when I finished my pour and fear I may never have this one again. Truly excited to finally try this one.

Thanks for the legwork Mike! Another in one of the bottles-I-ever-thought-I'd-ever-see series. 750ml screen printed capped and corked bottle into a Cantillon sherry glass. Reviewed at a tasting from notes.

Pours pale peach-orange. Light white head dissipates quickly. No lace and light legs. Not much to see here.

Nose is peach, cheese, hay with a lightly sweet and mild acidity. Prickly, tart and aromatic. Funky and dank as hell too. Real nice.

Opens very acidic. Tart and lightly bitter grape skin. Hay, woody, and vinous. Dry and tart finish with a sour, spritzy lemon aftertaste. Pretty good.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and foamy in the mouth and goes down prickly and dry. Dry finish with a puckering, filmy aftertaste. Can't believe this is 10%.

Aside from a really impressive mouthfeel given the ABV, this is really nothing special. Like a well aged and real funky and cheesy gueuze.

Vintage: 2005

A: Dull off-yellow. Almost no (white) head on medium pour. Presentation in a magnum lambic basket is just awesome (this makes it perfect in my book)! I want one of these.

S: Sharp sweetness comes through on the nose with rounded booziness. Hint of must, loads of white grapes, and finishes with soft touch of cognac.

T: Complex and all over the place - lots going on here...white grape, harsh cognac, touch of oak, hint of grass earthiness, lots of berries, soft citrus, and finishes with alcohol punch! Somewhat confusing for the taste buds upon first sip, but the complexity can be enjoyed once you just enjoy the beer and stop taking notes ;-)

M: Medium bodied with almost zero carbonation. Booze is there start to finish!

O: A very interesting beer from Cantillon here. I can appreciate what they were going for, but there is just too much going on for me to thoroughly enjoy this. Alcohol presence overpowers, but the large format presentation is pretty cool! Just be'll pay an arm and a leg (according to my notes, this bottle was SEK 1,690) - good thing it was split several ways. Can't win them all, but a fun beer to try.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a bit of light thin white head. The nose is strange, piney wet bark, cognac or a sweet dark spirit, some barrel and a hint of rum soaked berry. The flavor falls off in back, slightly rotten bark mixed with dark sweet spirit. Lightly sweet, tart grape, not really vinous at all. Medium creamy body, tight but light carbonatin, semi dry finish. Oxidized empty finish, probably past its prime.

The head on this beer dissipates so quickly it's intimidating. It smells like barley flour and acid. I didn't know what to expect from a 10% grape lambic aged in a cognac barrel, but Swedish crisp bread was not a predicted descriptor.

It tastes slightly sweet with a little rye, a little heat, and a lot of barley flour. I wonder if the dessert wine derived from Sämling and Welschriesling grapes tastes the same way. The finish is tannins and cayenne pepper. Over time the rye and pepper get harsh and the whole thing becomes a chore. A bizarre liquid.

A: Hazy yellow with a very small head.

S: Sour grapes, Hay, Funk, Citric notes.

T: Vanilla/Bourbon, Grapes, Hay, Citric notes, Funk.

M: Initial taste is very sweet and you can really tell this beer has been barrel aged but then a really nice sourness takes over and kicks your ass. Quite filling asfell. Most unusual.

This beer grew on me as i sipped away at it with a fellow ratebeerian. Very interesting!
