Bottles enjoyed at Cantillon, November 2018.

From the onset, this beer showed it’s unique. Viscous pour, akin to syrup as the last remnants fled the bottle. Dark orange, pumpkin hued body with a thick white apex. Hazy body with no transparency.

Unusual and alluring aroma. Sea buckthorn? Whoa! An explosion on the palate of delicious and mysterious flavors. Oak, funk, sour/tangy stone fruit, nuts. An odd and intriguing beer. What a treat!

This was a different flavoring for a lambic from cantilon. Yes the hallmark hay, funk and cantillon lambic feel are all there, but the main fruit flavors are strange, like a mashup of elderberry, lingonberry, seaweed and orange. I guess some is coming from whatever buckthorn is. The smell is more on the earthy and salty side with tart oak finishing. Odd but strangely enjoyable

2018 release. 375 bottle.

White head. Golden orange color.

Tart and citrusy. The sea buckthorn is interesting and I am not really sure what it’s supposed to taste like, but it seems more tart/sour than other Cantillons. Has a little herbal flavor as it warms. Very fun beer to try.
