Notes / Commercial Description:
Everyone knows some of our best friends are wine growers from the Libourne region in France, more specifically those who make Saint Emillion and Pomerol. They respect the tradition and let their wine ferment in a natural way.

Fermentation, origin and vintage are still kept up.

Our collaboration resulted in a product uniting the best of their wine and of our beer : the Saint-Lamvinus.

The grapes, of the merlot and cabernet-franc varieties, are soaked in Bordeaux barrels containing two to three years old lambic. The beer is not blended before the bottling. The foam is caused by the addition of a liquor which starts the fermentation.

had a 2015 of this. Wasn't too funky, had a great smell and perfect look. Taste was pretty good but didn't blow me away after all the hype I was given on it. I'd definitely get it again but I've had others I'd prefer.

Finger worth of loose, airy foam that has meager retention, barely leaves a surface coating behind, zero lacing as well. Opaquely cloudy liquid of a watermelon pink coloration, faded rose hued rims. Ripe, fruity nose of raspberry, strawberry with notes of lemon, clean and without the sour blast that such beers possess and knock you back on your heels, hovers steadily in the nostrils. Light-bodied, the initial sweetness frames things pleasantly before developing a broadening sourness across the palate. Same soft cherry, raspberry, strawberry fruit array, nibbles at you as well via accents of green apple. Has a minerally, metallic bite at the end, dry yeastiness. It is remarkable most for its smoothness and relatively high drinkability. Bottled October 26, 2015.

The color is an amazing merlot. It looks like wine with that bit of lambic cloudiness. It is gorgeous hen held into the light. The base is very prevalent in this and the grape character is subtle with some light jamminess. Wash rind cheese aroma. The grapes come out more as it warms. This is a wonderful fruited lambic.

Not much for lambics, but when you are having the best....who is going to complain.

Drank a 2015 vintage on 5/13/2016. Added notes from 2/4/2017 drinking of 2013 vintage

L - 2015 (4.75) dark ruby red, nice pink head, really sexy
2013 (4.75) consistent. beautiful

S - 2015 (4.25) funk, lacto, some fruit and more as it warmed. 2013 (4.5) way fruitier. oak and grapefruit big time. some of that wild yeast too and some barnyard hay

T - 2015 (4.25) red grapes, some raspberry, a little more dark fruits as it warms, and the oak opens up nicely as it warms. 2013 (4.75) tons of berry, grapefruit, and red grapes. Probably tart grapefruit being the most prevalent, but really and overall flavor bomb. Tons of fruit and oak and just wonderful.

F - smooth, tart, a coating feel that's a little heavier for a sour in a great way

O - 2015 (4.25) a very nice fruited lambic. a little overrated in my opinion, but i would assume it ages gracefully. the tartness was very pleasant, but the overall flavor profile was a bit of a letdown
2013 (4.75) wow this was a different beer than 2015. I don't know if it ages really well or the older vintage was just a better made beer. This is not overrated and was an absolute delight.
