Notes / Commercial Description:
Everyone knows some of our best friends are wine growers from the Libourne region in France, more specifically those who make Saint Emillion and Pomerol. They respect the tradition and let their wine ferment in a natural way.

Fermentation, origin and vintage are still kept up.

Our collaboration resulted in a product uniting the best of their wine and of our beer : the Saint-Lamvinus.

The grapes, of the merlot and cabernet-franc varieties, are soaked in Bordeaux barrels containing two to three years old lambic. The beer is not blended before the bottling. The foam is caused by the addition of a liquor which starts the fermentation.

Freaking awesome. Plum, cherries, red wine, tartness. Great body. So glad I had this, and I want more.

2015 vintage, 75cl bottle poured into a Cantillon Balloon.

Macerated red grapes, sharp acetic vinegar, and the time-tested oak plus barnyard Cantillon funk on the nose. Subtle hints of mellow Merlot wine is present in the back end with a dash of lemon zest.

A sharp acetic vinous flavor (which is odd given Merlot's infamous mild and fruity character) jumps out at first, followed by the usual barnyard flavors. There's an unexpected well-rounded sweetness that balances out the tartness near the end which leaves you beckoning for another sip.

Medium-bodied with a pleasant amount of carbonation, no apparent booziness but if you share this with any wine lover (like I did) they'll be surprised that this isn't a 12-13% ABV table Merlot.

Overall yet another great grape-based lambic from Cantillon. Perhaps it's due to the characteristics of the grapes used, but the vinous qualities on display aren't as aggressive as I hoped they'd be.

The color is like a pomegranate lemonade. Body is smooth and angelic. I felt like I was in Belgium making love while drinking this.

Pours almost a red wine color with nice carbonation from the other side of the world. White head that smells like musty grapes. Taste follows the nose and brings a lot of oak barrel and funk to the tongue. Easy sipper but I would of liked to enjoyed this much colder.
