I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had roast and molasses hints. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Dark chocolate, roast, caramel and maple syrup come to mind. The mouthfeel is fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Fairly chocolatey aroma, with notes of roast malt reminiscent of coffee grounds.

Flavor is slightly sweet initially, becoming acidic dark malt mid palate, finishing fairly bitter. A bit too bitter for my liking. Lacks a bit in depth, as well.

From the growler via DEPS in Northern KY---and a big thanks to them for this one---please
get more from this brewery!

This nice new to us imperial pours a rich blackish brown with subtle cola highlights
and a nice head of creamy foam that settles to a thick ring, subtle light layer, and shows
nice light lacing. Nose of chocolate, char, heavy roast, and campfire roasted marshmallows.
Flavors exceed the nose with char laden malts with touches of dark coffee and dark cocoa
awash in a brulee of dark molasses amongst dark fruit notes and bittering hops on the
finish. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth, rich, lightly creamy, coating, light carbonation,
and a moderately dry finish.

Overall a SOLID brew from a brewery way down yonder. Very good and makes
me yearn to visit them.

Cheers
