Hazy and frothy. Had to wait five minutes to empty the whole can. 6.6% seems right, not alcoholic at all. Grapefruit and mangoes. Fabulous legs. Like you don’t put this back on the shelf thinking you forgot to use it the night before. Long after taste. I’m a fan except it’s pricey.

Beer #1 of my CANBIF 2017 haul. This is a lovely beer in many ways - hazy golden orange with a soft fluffy head that hangs around. It smells of tropical and stone fruit while the hops make their presence known. The taste follows the nose, with a hints of spice, tea, and a slightly oily hoppiness reminding you that this isn't a milkshake. I'm a huge fan of this style of beer and Trailway has hit it out of the park, in my opinion.

Can: Poured a bright pale orangey color ale with a nice large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy citrusy hops notes with some par and apricot notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix dominated by juicy hops with nice apricot and pear notes, floral undertones and residual sugar notes with almost no bitterness. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid IPA and a beer I wish I would have access to more regularly.

The hop is really present with just enough bitterness. Like the Rype and the Luster they probably brew this one with the same hop. This one is probably dry hopped, since you can really taste the grapefruit and the nice bitterness at the first sip. The color is an opaque yellow rich gold.

Out of 3 peoples that try it yesterday 2 will try it again.

Like the other brew from this local brewer, it is fun because you can collect easily the stick, if you are in sticker album.

Clear with an elegant cloud of murky yeast, dark gold color and low activity. Creamy and frothy white 2-3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with poor legs. Flavors of of pineapples, mangos, passion fruits, tea, sweet grains, lemon, floral spices. Moderately sweet, more zesty and heavily spiced citrusy hops. Slick and oily full body with moderate carbonation. Strong finish, floral dry leafy hops, herbal tea feel, soft roasted malts, and tropical fruits. Good intensity. A little thin and flat, probably too heavy. Decent freshness, a little astringent. It gets quite watery, getting way too slick, invading and damaging the taste. Promising flavors if the body is fixed. Overall good quality craft.

Serving Type: 473 mL Can

L- Pours a hazy pale yellow topped by a 1 finger foamy white head with great retention. Good amount of lacing.

S- Tropical fruit dominates the nose (Pineapple and Mango, from what I can tell.

T- Once again, tropical fruit is the domineer. A little bit of pale malt in the background.

F- Solid Medium body and moderate carbonation. A+ for drinkability.

O- The fact that I'm just discovering this local gem now makes me a little sad. This beer is so damn good... I'm a sucker for juicy IPA's and this one really hit the nail on the head. Tons of fruity hop flavour without being overly bitter. Extreme drinkability, almost too drinkable for being 6.5%. If you're in Fredericton, stop by their brewery and have it on tap, or buy a few cans to take home. I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

Pours a hazy straw yellow. Forms a thick half inch collar, cloudy and fluffy with perfect retention.

Nose is dominated by pineapple. Very light, very smooth but a touch dry. Lots of tropical fruit with the pineapple really standing out. Drinks far too easy.

Boy did I have a complete miss on this the first time I had it. I didn't see and taste what I do now. This is a beautiful hazy straw beer with a nice small tight head and some good lacing. Nose is juicy citrus hops and a touch of apricot. The taste really brings the juicy hops to the front and then it finishes with a bittersweet kick. The feel is full with medium carbonation.

Trailway has kicked it up a notch lately, they make solid beers, and Hu Jon is just one of them. If you are in NB or passing through, make a point of seeking this beer and Trailway out.
