A: roasted nut predominate, as expected smells of peanuts with added chocolate & coffee notes. Smoke, roasted espresso, vanilla.
A: Opaque brown with a dark tan head - low carbonation, thick pour, like syrup.
T: More coffee than peanut - dark hints of chocolate, sweet sugar, cream, vanilla, toasted bread.
F: Full, strong, thick, low carbonation.
O: Great milk stout, complex and robust. Not too sweet, easy to drink.

I got a can of this from the brewery when I visited it sometime ago. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving some lace. The scent had peanut butter notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with peanut butter flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours clear fairly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peanut butter, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and mild fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peanut butter, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peanut butter, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, light smoke/char, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and mild fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is a delicious flavored milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and mild fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. This was not as explosively in-your-face on the PB as I expected, but still impressive. Very rich and well rounded malt complexity, nice PB/lactose presence, and mild earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

12oz can. Poured out a jet-black color with a large, light brown head of foam. It smelled of peanut butter, chocolate and some light toasted caramel. Rich, roasted peanut butter flavor with sweet chocolate.

Dark toasted black color with a creamy beige-milk head of 1 finger in my Calusa snifter.

Aroma of peanut butter nougat, waffled vanilla wafer cookies, glazed pecan, and milk chocolate.

Comes off a little beery and metallic to start, and then it fades to some pleasant yet faint nutty-coffee notes. Faint peanut butter and dry cocoa on the finish.

Feel is a bit on the thin side, especially for a stout, more like a thin porter, with lots of busy carbonation. Dry coffee finish.

Overall, could really use a boost in the flavor and sweetness department. It's definitely beer first, dessert second. It's drinkable, just not heavy on the peanut butter.

12 ounce can I picked up in October of 2017. Drink by date printed on bottom of can reads 5/8/2018. Poured into tulip. During the pour, the beer is a medium brown, in the glass it appears rich mahogany brown. Nice finger of head that leaves legs as it recedes. The nose is a peanut butter, chocolate and a wafer cookie. Taste is nuttiness, chocolate, some faint roast with a nice sweet peanut butter pie finish. I don't get the tang others stated. The mouthfeel isn't bad for a beer of this abv but I wish it felt smoother. Overall, it's a solid peanut butter beer without the nutty bitter finish. Worth a try.

On tap at the Mellow Mushroom in Nashville, Tailgate's hometown. Pours Coca Cola brown. Lots of lacing. Smells like roasted peanuts and chocolate. Tastes that way, too, with a fairly bitter aftertaste - in a good way. Sweetness takes the edge off.

Dark creamy head, peanuts and chocolate nose, creamy rich mouthful, best peanut butter stout out there. You need to try this beer.

Pours very dark brown but still has some clarity. Medium head with average retention that leaves a few bits of lace. Nose is sort of nutty, but more of a stinky sweaty foot smell. It is borderline revolting. Compared to a beer like Yellow Belly, this is terrible so far. Taste is initially like a watery flavored stout, but is followed by another off flavor. Getting hard to drink this at all by the third sip. Mouthfeel is watery. Overall, my worst beer of 2017. Probably not fair to compare to a world class beer like Yellow Belly, but this is really bad. Couldn't finish the can.

Appearance: Black glass shows a thin ruby edge, holds a halo of brown foam but doesn't lace the glass.

Aroma: Pretty nutty, not quite peanut but appealing. A little sweetness as well.

Taste: Heavy nutty earthiness on a clean if a bit thin Stout base. A little lactic note, long nutty finish.

Mouthfeel: Thin body, low carbonation, little oil in the finish.

Overall: Great package. Nutty note works really well, base beer is clean and smooth, a lot to like. Wish I could get some in Texas (hand carried back from TN).
