Very nice hefeweizen. It's up there next to Weinstephaner for me. Quite dry with a good yeast and grain character. Lemon, clove, almost mineral. Very refreshing and drinkable

500 ml bottle into a pint glass. Hazy yellow. Really aromatic; banana, citrus, pepper. Meringue like head that lasts forever. Really silky feel. The best hefeweizen I've tried!

From a 500ml bottle served straight from the fridge at 8 degrees Celsius into a weizen glass. No dates on the bottle.

Look: The beer pours a hazy gold with 5cm of dense, white head that settles into a thick cap within 4+ minutes. Overall persistent head with no lacing. Effervescent.

Smell: Moderate strength and good balance. Banana esters and phenolic spice reminiscent of cloves. Faint wheat malt and no hops.

Taste: Moderate strength and leaning towards sweet. Again with prominent banana and cloves with faint bubblegum. The finish falls in the middle in terms of length, intensity, and balance.

Feel: Medium-full body with high carbonation. Prickly yet creamy with no apparent alcohol.

Overall: A very good hefeweizen from Ayinger – really a prime example of the style. The interplay between the yeast and wheat produces some complexity. Excellent craftsmanship. Try it!

Classic hazy straw colored with a big head. For a hef this has the classic scent : banana clove spice with that wonderful yeast smell. A bit sweeter than I was expecting with the banana and yeast flavor extending through the finish. Creamy mouthfeel with less carbonation. This is a quality brew with a big nose and a bit less on the flavor.

Pours lightly hazy gold. Thick, medium, wet white head that lasts a while. Fading to lasting cap.

Smells orange peel, banana, clove, yeast funk and wheat.

Tastes citrus, light grassy, yeast and clove. Followed by banana and yeast funk. Finish is dry with yeasty linger. Medium body and creamy medium carbonation.
