Pours glowing peach with a frothy, crackly head that sticks around a long time. Fruity yeast esters and spices mix with wheat malt in the nose. Big fruity taste with banana, bubble gum, strawberry, clove esters abounding. A crisp wheat backbone provides a chewy, sweet counterpart to the yeast flavors. The mouthfeel is chewy full with a creamy carbonation.

A benchmark Hefe. Super complex and quenching. The ultimate summer beer.

50 cl bottle into a weizen. Hazy straw color, medium head, little lacing. Mostly banana with some lemon on the nose. Tart wheat with sweet yeasty banana and a hint of lemon on the taste with a clean dry aftertaste. Medium body with good carbonation that lightens the feel, very smooth. Overall a really good hefeweizen, really drinkable and refreshing. Doesn't have a lot of complexity but has a lot of flavor. Will certainly have this one again.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass at around 45 degrees Fahrenheit

Appearance: Hazy pale straw color with a one finger white head

Smell: Ripe banana with undertones of spices, lemongrass, and yeast. Very clean aromas

Taste: "Bright" for a hefe. A strong banana and citrus flavor balanced with clove, wheat, and yeast

Mouthfeel: Light mouthfeel; Smooth and crisp with slight bitterness

Overall: Probably one of the better hefes I have had, but to me, once youve had one you've had them all. I think I'll strictly stick to Weihenstephaner for my hefe needs. Still a solid beer and worth a try.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a slightly hazy medium golden amber with a two finger white head that dissipates slowly to a thick cap and nice lacing. Classic hefeweizen aroma of wheat, clove, banana, light orange family citrus. Hefeweizens have to be among the most pleasant and enticing smelling ales in the world. Flavor follows with semi-sweet wheat, mild lemon and orange citrus, clove, and ripe banana. Light bodied with nice sharp carbonation. A great example of a classic hefeweizen, perhaps a bit less intense wheat than Weinstephaner, but still well balanced and a pleasure to drink. One of the world's great styles from a great brewery.

500 mL bottle at 45 degrees into weizen glass
Aroma fruity with some yeast
Head large (7.5 cm), white, creamy with rocks, slowly diminishing to 5 mm layer
Lacing OK, some large clots with small to medium bubbles; no rings
Body light yellow, hazy
Flavor light and fruity; no alcohol, no hops, no diacetyl
Palate light, watery, lively carbonation

A light, refreshing hefe. The flavor is good, but short-lived, and the carbonation is a little too lively, but overall this is a decent hefeweizen.
